Sean is going on 14 months with brain cancer

Post by CITYSLICKER »

I remember he was told 6 months without treatment and 15 to 18 months with treatment, of course I am amazed how far he has come and yet fearful as we get closer to the doctors opinion. he is fighting all the time and one of the biggest problems is boredom after many years of working. we had him over and his sister yesterday for lunch and was a great time, he is still smiling at times and one time all we had was tears, he goes for another mri. thusday and hope the tumor has continued to be slowed by chemo and we get many more years with our son, thanks for all yall and your continued support for him. Thanks, Slick

Thanks for the update Slick. Sorry to say, but the tears are running down my cheeks right now. This beast called cancer not only affects the person afflicted, but the entire family and friends as well. I feel for you and the rest of Sean's family. You have all sacrificed so much in the attempts to help combat that debilitating disease. Humans are capable of so much when put to the test. It is amazing how well that you have coped with this, and how strong that you have been for your son. Sean is a hero for his steadfst fight in this battle, but you are my hero for how well you have kept everything together in the midst of such turmoil and upheaval. Great job, and keep up your own health so that you can continue to be strong when others need support. Love you Man!

THANKS PINKY, MOST THE PEOPLE HERE ARE MUCH YOUNGER AND DONT UNDERSTAND THINGS THAT THEY HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THE BAD SIDES OF CANCER BUT IT SUCKS THE LIFE OUT OF YOU. MY WIFE IS 3 YEARS YOUNGER AND IT HAS REALLY HURT HER HEALTH AND STILL IS. SO THAT'S WHERE THE RUBBER HITS THE ROAD, POSTING HELPS ME TO COPE, WHETHER THEY UNDERSTAND OR CARE. SAW
THE STORY ON Anthony Bourdain LAST NIGHT, HE HAD EVERYTHING BUT IN THE END NOTHING. HE COULDN'T COPE AND TOOK HIS LIFE, I WENT FROM EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IN A MONTH TO A SLOW DEATH WATCH ON MY ONLY SON. CHIT HAPPENS.

Slick, I have no idea how you feel. I have never dealt with a child having cancer. My wife had cancer in both breast when she was forty years old and had both breast removed. She is now seventy two. I had stage four lymphoma twenty two years ago and I’m seventy four. My father died with cancer at fifty one. My brother fought cancer Sixteen years and died with cancer last year at sixty four. My grandfather died at fifty five with cancer. My great grand father died at fourth five with cancers. My family as you can see has battled cancer. We won some and lost some at a fairly young age.
Cancer is a scary thing to face and I get that you are scared. I am praying and have prayed that your son gets a
miracle. I hope you put your son in God’s hand. I gave God my situation and it gave me the peace that I needed to go forward. I wish peace for you, your son and your entire family.

thanks for your words, when someone is older and like my daddy died from it, but when a younger person gets it, just dont feel right or fair, but the graveyard is full of unfair ages too.

Seans brain tumor had Shrunk again, the doctor said he had been taking chemo for 15 months,so he is taking him off for 2 months to give his body a rest from the poison,so things seem to be better again,he is still struggling with his walking a bit, hopefully that will get better with his break from chemo,we can't never drop our guard for this horrible brain stealer, thanks for all y'all's concern with this fight.
