1-South Florence
2-Hartsville

5-West Flo
6-Myrtle Beach - the last 3 in any order you like. South Florence is the team to beat.

In my opinion, there's no way that Wilson doesn't finish last in this region. I seriously doubt Myrtle Beach has fallen off that much to the point where they're last. I think MB will at least finish 4th. I think that Wilson could finish with 2 region wins AT THE MOST. Wilson isn't necessarily a bad team, they just play in one of the toughest regions in 4A.

However, I do agree with you that South Florence is the team to beat in this region. Heck, I'd even say that LaNorris Sellers can carry them to the 4A Lower State Championship Game.

I’ll sure take 4th if we can get it that would be great. MB has great coaching. They open with Camden on August 19 at Camden. I truly hope the players and coaches have a good season.

Dang, MB not too long ago was a contender to go to State every year. Have they really fallen off that much?

With Darlington winning their appeal and moving down to 3A, there are no sure things in this region.

I will gladly agree with the general consensus,.... South Florence is the team to beat this year. With that said, all 5 of the others could do exactly that.

Wilson is the wild-card. Most will put them at the bottom of the list, but they have talent, attitude, a rabid fan base and they've been hittin' the weight room. Sleep on Wilson at your own peril.

Then there are the established, proven winners:
Mickey Wilson - Myrtle Beach
Jeff Calabreese - Hartsville
Jody Jennerette - West Florence
Betting against any of these guys is usually a bad idea.

That leaves North Myrtle Beach -- for me, the biggest question mark. I don't know what they are bringing back and (former) head coach Matt Reel has moved over to Boiling Springs. Defensive Coordinator, Greg Hill, is the new head coach.

I want to see how everyone looks in their scrimmages this week, but for now my picks are:
South Florence
Hartsville
West Florence
Myrtle Beach
Wilson
North Myrtle Beach

Great post and I don't think there is a tougher Region in 4A to predict...

You could argue for any of the top 5 on your list and I understand why NMB is #6 on your list... God bless the former coach, jumped from this Region to possibly the only job tougher in the state, the lowest rated team in Region II 5A to face Gaffney, Spartanburg, Dorman and Byrnes!

Myrtle Beach has a strong offense that I can see gelling more and more as the season goes on. I have my eye on their sophomore 6’4 wideout Simmons who looks like a senior. They have some kinks to work out, but they have the potential to be very explosive. The defense is suspect especially against the run, but they do have an athletic secondary. Myrtle Beach will not be last and I could see them winning this region. If you are going to beat them it is going to be by shoot out. I would be surprised if any team can keep them under 35 points.

Maybe not last but close to it. Let’s see how they do against 3A Camden. The bulldogs are ranked number 2 in there class. If the offense shows up against Camden then maybe your on to something. I just haven’t seen any strong offense in any scrimmage this year. Loris had them beat 24-0 at the end of the third quarter in a scrimmage game. I sure hope the gelling happens soon. South Florence is loaded and Wilson players I hear are hard in the weight room. Hartsville is big physical and fast. West I hear is loaded again. I’m gonna have a heart attack worrying about all this.

I can’t wait to see Camdens historical stadium think I’m going to make a day trip out of it.
