I want all them receipts!

Post by Wolverine_Legend »

Ya'll go on now and put'em in the basket as I walk by.

It was a defensive slugfest but I seem to remember telling ya'll Woodruff was going to beat Chapman. Woodruff held Chapman to just 170 yards and recorded five sacks and MANY tackles for loss. The Wolverines' defense is absolutely legit. If we had played defense like that from 2008-11 when Brian Lane was our coach, to go along with his offense, we would have at least two more state championships. But be that as it may....

Ya'll come on and pay up!

And to address those who said all week how Chapman has "owned" Woodruff...I believe that was the word used...Woodruff now leads the all-time series over Chapman 38-19-2.

Now credit where it is due, Chapman returned a lot of talent on defense and they played equally great on that side of the ball. They are going to have to rely on defense to win games because the offensive talent simply isn't what it has been.
And on the eighth day, God created the Woodruff Wolverines

Congratulations on a very big win over Chapman. I was way off on my thoughts about this game. I made my picks based upon recent trends. As with everything in life, things change. Obviously your Woodruff team has turned the corner and now will be a team to be reckoned with down the road. Good luck this season, and color me convinced about how to pick games now.

I will give you your props. Well, half a prop since Chapman didn't have their starting QB. But good win for Woodruff. Terrible loss for Cananass. I have said previously that one could see them slipping a little more every year since Hodge left. The Chapman folks are used to being in the elite of 3A. This is going to go over well in Inman.

We sacked their QB 5 times and I lost count after the 10th tackle for loss. We lived rent free in their backfield all night and our defensive line is legitimately scary. Combine that with their current personnel at the skill positions and I'm not sure it would have mattered who the QB was. Their starter had never started a varsity game before either. Chapman has a legit defense too with some dudes on that side of the ball. That is what they will have to hang their hats on this season, at least until region play and they get to play TR, Blue Ridge, and Carolina.
