Daniel vs Easley

After winning the opener against Greer, we travel down Highway 123 to Easley. The last 4 times these teams have played it has been domination with the average score in those 4 games is 52-17.

I got to see some film from Easley's scrimmages against Wren and Liberty and they won in both. Liberty had no business being on the field with Easley and it was ugly. Wren had a lot of young new starters but was up for most of the scrimmage but Easley was able to get the win. They look like they run an offense similar to Greer with a pistol offense and their new starting QB looked like as good a runner as their former starter and a better passer. Coach Durrah has Easley heading in a good direction after taking over a program a few years ago.

Daniel is coming in after setting a school record 25th straight win over Greer. New QB Blaine Simons proved himself to be a solid QB1. RB room is loaded and last years starter Chris Edge will likely be back this week. OL and WR groups are studs. DL did good but didn't blow me away like it has in seasons past but they have the potential to get there. The LB group was decent but they kept cramping, someone get them pickle juice. Secondary looked better than I was expecting and they can get even better. Neither side was perfect but we got the whole season to chase that.

I think this will be all Daniel. Easley is probably a year away from really giving us a good game for 4 quarters but we will see.

Can't trust the Greasley Green Wave....they'll "un-bag" their cheerleaders trying to throw the Lions off balance...that much ugly on the sideline combined with all that cellulite bouncing around and the rancid body odor those heifers generate as they hoot and holler their cheers...bound to be unnerving. Hang in there Lions and get it done! GO D. WISTAR!!

So I’ve seen Easley as well . I don’t think they have near the skill level or talent of Greer . That spells big win Daniel.

Now if Chris Edge is back watch out. He’s been one of the more explosive players in the state the last two years but couldn’t showcase it because of injuries. He played in one playoff game the last two years and he was probably our biggest home run hitter both years.

As stretch said we got 4 backs now that can do a variety of things and the wr corp is 7 deep as well.
I could even see the backup qb fitting in on the run game in short yard situations similar to Wise Seegars 2 years ago.

The defense looked better than what I expected Friday considering what we lost. You better get em early though. 44 is a new one that will light you up and we have opportunistic playmakers on that side especially on the back end. Also I think our kicker is better than the one that was a 3 yr starter . He missed a 39 yd kick the other night but it was just wide . Thing would’ve gone 50plus.

I like where we’re at

Game on!

I like how our team has competed in the scrimmages this season.
Looking forward to the game this Friday and officially getting the 2022 season underway.

55-7 tonight the game kept dragging on with dumb penalties. There were I think 8 unsportsmanlike penalties combined and we had 3. That’s something we can’t have it’s inexcusable. Other than that I felt like we played okay but definitely not what our best could be.

Whew....thank goodness. Greasley must have not unbagged those cheerleaders. Way to go Lions!

Dominate performance again. Have to clean up penalties.
Fumbled 3 times last night but fortunately got em all so that’s something to work on. We’re getting better on both sides quickly and the qb looked in full control last night.
May have found another star In the Bennett kid that’s about as quick and fast as I’ve seen in awhile . Lit Easley up with the running clock going. Chris Edge hopefully back soon along with some linemen. Got 2 weeks to heal nagging injuries and tighten up before Hart County comes in.I like where we’re at and where we’re going . 26 and counting.

Having a 3 headed monster at running back with Edge, Shaw, and Bennett will be great if they all can stay healthy. Bennett has had 9 carries in two games and has 200+ yards and 3 TD's. When we get to games against West-Oak or Crescent it might just be like the Jaelon Oglesby days where our playbook is only Inside run L/R or Outside run L/R.
