While I normally try to break our games down and give an honest assessment of our opponents, I'm not sure there is much I can do to sugarcoat this one. Nothing at all against Fountain Inn, but they have only freshmen and sophomores, lost to West Oak 9-6, and only have six players on their entire team that weigh over 200 pounds. This one will be as bad as we want it to be, but we will call off the dogs by halftime and the clock will run in the second half. It is what it is as Fountain Inn gets their baptism by fire.
Woodruff 56
Fountain Inn 0

I know this game will get really ugly, but just how ugly? What say the expert prognosticators here on SC Prep Talk?

Another game of looking good. Not real sure about Woodruff. Don't think they can stay on the field with one of the really good 3A teams like DWD, Camden or Dillon, but we shall see.
Everyone enjoy whuppin' up on Fountain Inn now...think there is solid foundation for something good there.

I am confident we can stay on the field with anyone in 3A. Now, don't mistake that for me claiming outright we would beat anyone, but we are solid all the way across the board. We have size, athleticism, speed in the skill positions, and a three-year starter at QB who passed for 1,500 yards in the COVID shortened season in 2020 and for 2,000 yards last season in only nine games (he missed two due to injury). We are physical on defense and will give anyone a run for their money. We are a good football team. In no way am I saying we are the best in 3A, but we can go toe to toe with anyone and give them one helluva fight. I am excited to see how the season plays out.
And I do agree on your assessment of Fountain Inn. It won't be this year or next, but I think they have the potential to be good in a lot of sports in the near future.

Not sure about Dillon because they have not played a game. Daniel and Camden thumped two really good 4A teams, that would likely beat Woodruff and I believe they would do the same to Woodruff.
Chapman is not the same team these days. The slide has been slow but sure for them.

I’ve stated many times in 10 years or less this will be a 5A school. They will put the hurt on Hillcrest and woodmont and possibly Mauldin and Laurens.

Woodruff wins 31-0 following a two hour weather delay as some nasty storms blew through southern Greenville County.
The game was shortened to 10 minute quarters and the clock ran continuously and halftime was only one minute. From kick-off to final horn the game lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Had this game been played under normal circumstances the score would have been MUCH worse. The Wolverines scored on every possession but one, and that one was with the third string in at the very end of the game.
Fountain Inn does have some stout looking kids for just freshmen and sophomores. They are taking their lumps now but I expect them to be a good program in 2-3 more years.
Woodruff is on to J.L. Mann next week in our home opener and the Patriots look to be vastly improved. It should be a good game in a great atmosphere!
