I know that Clinton/Laurens have met more times, but I wonder if these two teams have the longest rivalry between two adjoining counties?
Newberry and Clinton first met in 1920, and aside from the wwII years and 2020...they have pretty much met every year since!
Clinton has not won in Newberry since 2010, but Newberry has won six-of-the-last seven meeting I believe.
I don't k now how the game will come out, but I do know that we should have a huge crowd from both sides on Friday!
Newberry and Clinton meet for the 94th time!

Gonna be a tough one for us Friday night mayor. Clinton is bringing a pretty good team into Bulldog Stadium.
Get some funny stories ready, I may need to hear some by Friday.

This will be a beat down if Clinton deems it so. Think there is a solid reason that Strickland called it quits last year. He knew there wasn't much in the pipeline.

There's plenty in the pipeline. Bulldogs are going to be really good in 2 years if everything works out. There are freshmen linemen 6'4-6'5, 300 lbs. Middle school went undefeated last year, last group that did that played for back to back state titles. This group could be better.Cover Three wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 9:42 pmThis will be a beat down if Clinton deems it so. Think there is a solid reason that Strickland called it quits last year. Newberry just has a young team right now. Sophomores are starting in most positions, especially on offense.
