Re: Greenwood at North Augusta
North Augusta is getting better. Greenwood has played a murderer's row schedule and are better than their record. I love the atmosphere at North Augusta, and the stadium is super nice. I see this as a very good game between 2 teams looking to get a spark for upcoming Region play. This will be a 4th quarter game as I see it. Sorry Jackets, but I see Greenwood taking advantage of some early season lessons from some of the biggest, strongest, and best, teams in the state.
My call:
Greenwood-28
North Augusta-24
My call:
Greenwood-28
North Augusta-24
The "Godfather" didn't whine like The "Slobfather" is doing, when he got INDICTED!!!!!

Re: Greenwood at North Augusta
North Augusta is a lot better. If Greenwood can hold on to the ball we'll win. If we fumble or have bad pitches we'll get beat. Simple as that. Right now Greenwood has 10 new starters on offense until Ve Morton gets back. It takes time. Greenwood fans knew this going into the season or at the very least after the AC Flora game. Coach Liner has asked Greenwood fans to be patient with this years group due the the reasons mentioned above. We have and will continue to be. We'll be right by the time region play starts. Just so non Greenwood fans know, most if not all of any negativity is coming from people who are not close to the program. We will continue to support and encourage the Greenwood kids throughout this tough stretch of games. We believe in the coaches and what they are teaching these kids. We'll be alright. Go Eagles!
Just a little side note..... Someone in another post mentioned how the triple option no longer works. My response to that is this. Regardless of what offense you run, as long as you're good at it it will work. You can run the spread, power spread, air raid, power I, triple option, double wing or whatever.... You just have to be good at what you do. Right now Greenwood is not and we need to get better. I have full confidence that we will. Last year Greenwood won a region title in the offense. Only lost 2 games to Dutch fork, the 5A runners up and took South Pointe to the wire who ended up winning 4A state. Went 10-2 in the triple option option offense. It works if you're good at it.

This might be a good game between to .500 +/- head coaches who have had minimal success in there careers. Check their records and you will understand my comments. Can’t believe that NA hired this guy with his record, and obviously Liner’s record is no better. Team with the least number of turnovers wins this game because it won’t be based on talent.

Oh wow Dame! I have no comments. Lol. I don't understand why Greenwood is going to them 2 seasons in a row.Damefan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:50 pmThis might be a good game between to .500 +/- head coaches who have had minimal success in there careers. Re: Greenwood at North Augusta
I don't know the situation at North Augusta so i can't comment on it. As far as Liner at Greenwood, He's already won region in only his 2nd year. Can't take that away from him. Won 2 region titles at Laurens I believe and it's hard to win at Laurens. No disrespect to Laurens. No state title for Liner yet. Gene Cathcart didn't win any state titles as a head coach before he came to Greenwood and took us to 3 state championships in a row. He ended up winning the 3rd time. So it can be done and has been done at Greenwood. Regardless of how this season turns out, GREENWOOD PEOPLE ARE FOR COACH CHRIS LINER. We love him, he's one of us and he knows our culture, kids, and what we need to get our football program back up to standard. But hey....... Everyone has an opinion. Appreciate you sharing yours but as far as I'm concerned it's just outside noise. Have a good weekend sir!Damefan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:50 pmThis might be a good game between to .500 +/- head coaches who have had minimal success in there careers.
