Whoop That Stanky ........Butt! Beaufort-55 Fleabags-23
The Big Green Bullies go double nickel on the Jaurez fleabags at the beautiful Eagle's Nest tonight. Kacey Fields scored 5 rushing touchdowns tonight while amassing somewhere north of 200 yards. The Eagles also scored 2 touchdowns through the air and a mop-up score from some of the guys who make the team photo look better.
Our only possession of the night that did not result in a touchdown, was our first one. Kasey Fields dropped a sure TD pass from 45 yards out on a double pass thrown by Colton Phares. Fields was 10 yards clear of the nearest defender at about the 5 yard line. For anyone thinking that our offense was suspect, put those thoughts to bed.
The vaunted Eagle Defense was scorched for 3 long Touchdowns by the fleabags. They were outmanned, out-skilled, and out-sized. But I give them and their coach credit for not backing down. Of the 3 County 4A teams that we played, they were perhaps the best of the lot.
The zebras had a horrendous night tonight. Personal fouls were handed out by the dozens, and the second half was marred by a plethora of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Most of those arose after the fleabags showboating in the end zone after scoring while losing by 4 or more scores. Beaufort's players took exception, and policed the game while the zebras just watched for the most part. Now, I will admit that criticizing those guys is highly unnecessary most of the time, but tonight marks my first foray ever, into questioning their performance on the field. Definitely NOT a good training film. Everyone has off nights. This crew had an off night tonight. They lost complete control of the game.
The weather tonight was perfect for football. Temps in the upper 60s, light wind, and no rain. The Nest was rocking tonight. Can't wait until next week when Phillip Simmons and 9 other guys ride their iron horses down U.S. 17 to Beaufort to get a taste of Big Boy 3A Football. Now it gets real, as we have 4 Region games on the schedule over the next 5 weeks. After that, our season begins! Go Eagles. fleabags go home!
