Daniel vs Seneca

For the 75th time the Daniel Lions play the Seneca Bobcats. These teams have played every year since 1953 and played twice a year in the early 2000’s, as well as an upperstate championship game in ‘95. Daniel leads the series 48-24-2. Since 1985 Daniel is 31-11. After Seneca’s win last week against Pendleton, the winner of this game will in all likelihood be the region champ and the loser will be the second place team.
The Loser Cats are coming into this game against Daniel with 1 loss. They have a 5-1 record with the lone loss coming against St. Joseph’s school of recruits. They have wins against Wade Hampton, Wren, Palmetto, Crescent, Woodmont and the aforementioned Pendleton. I won’t comment on their strength of schedule because my Lions isn’t much better. Their offense is definitely the best we will see so far this season. They average 40 points per game and they have a good balance of run and pass. The defense has been spotty, run first teams like Woodmont and St. Joes had good games against them. They haven't seen an offense that can throw like Daniel so I don't think they are ready for what is to come.
I am pumped for this one. The stands are going to be packed, it's been a while since both teams were the clear top 2 in the region. My Lions haven't lost at Seneca in a long time and these seniors haven't lost to Seneca since they were playing rec ball.

DWD will stomp them. Seneca is not very good. Got beat by a 1A school and struggled against a horrible Woodmont team. Won't be close and will be over by halftime.

I thought the same thing last season, but they played us closer than anyone else all season. Took us until the 4th to put them away. Hopefully you’re right but they haven’t beat us since 2017 on varsity, JV and middle school so they’re coming in to this game treating it like the Super Bowl.

We rested a lot of guys last week including Kelly.
The starters didn’t play a lot . Cold be the only factor as long as we don’t turn it over , which we don’t do.
42 -14 type ball game.

41-3 win for the Lions. No better sight than watching the stands on Senecas side empty as the game went on. Dominated from the start and it’s a shame we even allowed them to score. The Seneca kicker/punter wins team MVP. The Seneca OL better do some soul searching because we had probably 10 sacks at least.

Stretch first half was the best brand of football I’ve seen from anyone all year. Would’ve beat anyone in the state with that performance. Yea I said it and y’all wont like it. Tough but the truth. Defense had 9 sacks
Seneca had 131 total yards. A bad penalty on Daniel’s part gave the 3 that Bobkittens got.. They looked motivated for the first time since last year’s championship game. Watch out folks .32 and counting!

I agree with you Dub we had it going in the first half. I can’t remember the last time we had offense, defense and special teams all clicking. Absolutely broke them before they even knew what happened.
Seneca locked up second in the region with Crescent beating Pendleton and they’ll have an easy road in the playoffs but with #2 probably out for the year for them they won’t get past Wren in the rematch.

Just be careful going downhill and knock the gear shifter into reverse...you will leave the transmission in the middle of the road...
