2A Upperstate Bracket

These are just the important highlights, there are only 4 teams with a shot, IMO. Looks like Saluda vs Fiarfield Central in round 2. The winner goes to Abbeville in round 3. Strom Thurmand vs Grey Collegiate in round 3. Abbeville has home field as long as we win. Some good games starting in round 2. Upperstate champ game could be good one as well.l

I would say your spot on . One team though that could have a say is Silver Bluff . They did struggle early on and part of that has to sue with their best player transferring to MV.
But they’ve kind of righted the shop and there’s a ton of pride and tradition there. I don’t think their a threat to win it all but could have a say in who does.

Abbeville and Gray are the two clear cut favorites. Saluda and ST right behind them. Then FC and SB. After that a huge fall off. Even Newberry is way down this year.

On the other side it’s a cake walk for Oceanside

Was that the RB that transferred? I was expecting SB to be much better than what they have shown. Surprising. You could be right about SB, though, these last 3 reg season will tell a lot about them.

Trayvon Dunbar. I believe he is a 4 star. He is originally from MV area, transferred to Bluff for a year or two and now back to MV. He and the dominant Oline got them to the state championship game last season.

We'll know a lot more about Silver Bluff this Friday as they host Saluda.

Lot's of football to be played but looks like Abbeville, Strom Thurmond, Saluda and Gray Collegiate in the upstate. I'm not familiar with FFC this season. They may come into play also. Seems Abbeville gets the homefield bracket every year!

Barnwell and Oceanside look to be top in lowstate. Not sure anyone will have anything for Oceanside this season but guess we'll find out the 1st weekend in December.

We are down this year. We should end up with the 3 seed in the region, we won the Keenan game by forfeit from what I was told. Keenan violated rules playing kids in JV and dressing them for Varsity. IF and big IF we can beat Fairfield, we would get the 2 seed.

Unless Oceanside gets lost on the way to Columbia, the state title is moot point in 2A...even more so than 3A as it looks right now...they beat Gray like a rented mule and one play from beating So Flo...good team. Only question is their quality depth if they get a rash of injuries.

Well the Bracket is certainly scrambled at this point with two weeks left. Likely Region winners are GC, Abb, A Jackson. The rest is anybody's guess. In the end, I think GC at Abb for upper but we'll see. ST will have their say and Saluda could factor as well. I don't believe AJ can handle any of those teams.

Don't ever count out Abbeville.
