2022 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 5A,4A,3A,2A, and 1A Football Playoff Projections after Week 9

I'll be adding notes to each bracket for teams that are LOCKED IN
or just a PROJECTION. (ASAP)

If you know teams that are LOCKED IN to their finishing position in region.
Just post and let us know.

Strom Thurmond locked in #1
Silver Bluff locked in #2

Fox Creek locked in #5
Pelion locked in #6 (out of playoffs)

Saluda and Batesburg are playing for 3 and 4 this Friday.

2022 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 5A Football Football Playoff Projection:

5A Region Breakdowns updated with LOCKED IN and just PROJECTIONS.
5A-1
T.L. Hanna is region champion.
Hillcrest and J.L. Mann are playing for 2nd place.
Mauldin and Woodmont are competing for 4th place and a playoff spot.

5A-2
Gaffney is region champion.
Spartanburg and Dorman will be playing for 2nd place.
Byrnes is locked into 4th place regardless of outcome against Gaffney.

5A-3
Blythewood is region champion. (win over Clover, only team that could tie)
Clover is 2nd. (due to wins over Nation Ford and Spring Valley)
Nation Ford, Spring Valley, Rock Hill, and Fort Mill still playing for Region positioning.

5A-4
Dutch Fork vs. Lexington for the Region Title. (loser is 2nd place)
River Bluff can finish 3rd with a win over Chapin in Week 10.
A loss by River Bluff and their is a 3 way tie for 3rd place.

5A-5
Sumter is region champion.(wins over Carolina Forest and St. James, only teams that could tie)
St. James at Carolina Forest for 2nd place in region.
Conway is locked into 4th place regardless of outome against Sumter.

5A-6
Goose Creek is region champion. (win over Cane Bay, only team that could tie.)
Cane Bay, Stratford, Berkeley, and Wando are all still playing for region finishing position.

5A-7
Summerville at Fort Dorchester for the region title. (loser is 2nd place)
Ashley Ridge needs a win over Stall to take 3rd place.
West Ashley is in the clubhouse waiting for the outcomes to determine their playoff fate.

2022 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 4A Football Football Playoff Projection:

4A Region Breakdowns updated with LOCKED IN and just PROJECTIONS.
4A-1
Greenville is region champion.
Westside is 2nd place.
Greenwood, Easley, and Pickens are playing for region playoff positioning.

4A-2
Riverside vs. Greer has Region Title implications.
A win by Riverside clinches the Region Title for the Warriors;
A loss and there is a 3-way tie.
Eastside vs. Wade Hampton-G is for a playoff spot.

4A-3
Catawba Ridge vs. Northwestern for 1st place in Region.
Loser is 2nd place.
South Pointe, Indian Land, York, and Lancaster are all playing for region positioning.

4A-4
North Augusta can win the Region Title with a win over Midland Valley.
A loss by the Yellow Jackets could force a 3-way tie for the top spot in Region 4.
South Aiken plays rival Aiken which also has playoff impications.
Airport is likely out of playoff contention at 0-4 in region play.

4A-5
Ridge View at A.C. Flora is for the Region Title.
Loser will finish in 2nd place.
Irmo, Richland Northeast, Lugoff-Elgin, and Westwood are still vying for region playoff positions.

4A-6
West Florence at South Florence is for 1st place in 4A Region 6.
Loser of this game will be in 2nd place.
Hartsville will be playing at Wilson, a win for the Red Foxes would give them sole possession of 3rd place.
A win by Wilson could either force a 3-way tie for 3rd or give the Tigers 3rd place if the North Myrtle Beach can pull of an upset of Myrtle Beach.

4A-7
In just their first full season of varsity competition, Lucy Beckham plays at James Island with an opportunity to force a 3-way tie for the 4A Region 7 title.
A James Island victory would give the Trojans sole possession of 1st place.
Bluffton plays at Colleton County. Bluffton has chance to solidify a playoff spot with a victory.

2022 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 4A Football Football Playoff Projection:

Region 4 AA
Gray has the #1 locked up
Newberry and Fairfield both sit with 1 loss going into their matchup Friday. Winner gets the #2, loser gets the #3. Both will get a first round home game.
Keenan has the #4 locked up. They would be the #3, but violated rules in their game vs Newberry and had to forfeit.
Mid Carolina and Columbia both have 1 win in the region. Columbia is done, MC plays Eau Claire. IF MC wins, they get the #4. IF Eau Claire can somehow pull the upset, there will be a 3 way tie for the last 2 playoff spots. I don't see Eau Claire winning, which would mean MC is the #4 and Columbia is the #5.

3A-1
Daniel is locked in as the region champion.
Seneca is 2nd based on victories over Crescent and Walhalla.
Walhalla, Pendleton, and Crescent are vying for the final two playoff spots.

3A-2
Powdersville is region champion by virtue of their wins over Belton-Honea Path and Wren.
Belton-Honea Path vs. Wren will determine 2nd place; the loser will be 3rd place.
Southside isn't locked in but are in a favorable position to finish 4th place by virtue of their win over Palmetto
and being a favorite this week over Fountain Inn.

3A-3
Chapman vs. Broome this week for the 3A Region 3 title.
The loser will finish 2nd place in Region.
Travelers Rest and Blue Ridge will kick it off for 3rd place, loser will finish fourth in region.

3A-4
Clinton wrapped up the region title last week with their win over Chester.
Chester will finish 2nd place.
Emerald, Woodruff, and Union County still have some work to do.

3A-5
Brookland-Cayce vs. Gilbert will determine the 3A Region 5 champion.
Lower Richland takes on Dreher. A win for the Diamond Hornets will give them 3rd place.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson, Dreher, and Swansea are all competing for the final spots.

3A-6
Camden is region champion on the strength of their wins over Crestwood and Lakewood.
Crestwood vs. Lakewood will determine 2nd place. Loser will be 3rd place.
Marlboro County is locked into 4th place.
Lake City and Darlington will battle for 5th place this week, but both will miss the playoffs.

3A-7
Dillon is guaranteed to be the region champions after wrapping it up with their win last week.
Manning is locked into 2nd place based on their wins over Loris and Aynor.
Loris will be at Aynor in a battle for 3rd place in the region.
Waccamaw will stay in 5th place regardless of their outcome against Manning.

3A-8
Beaufort takes on Hanahan this week and a win by the Eagles would give them the 3A Region 8 Title.
A Hanahan victory could potentially force a 3-way tie for the crown.
Philip Simmons will be favored in their matchup with Battery Creek; the Iron Horses are in a good position to finish 2nd.
A win by the underdog Dolphins could guarantee them 3rd place in the region or a chance for 2nd if Hanahan were to pull off the upset of Beaufort.

Thanks for doing these SCPrepTalk!!!! I am so glad to see you include all the Classifications on here. For some reason, it seems like only 5A or 4A gets all the attention. I love to see posts about all the Classifications from 5A,4A,3A,2A, 1A, and even SCISA. Keep up the great work!

Region 7 4A will have 1 team that will make some noise in 4A playoffs…..James Island!

Everyone else is just playing 1 more game and for Bluffton….a LONG bus ride home from Richland NE!!!

Wait……they still have to beat Colleton County!!!
