Batesburg-Leesville at Newberry

Post by bigdog2003 »

These teams will met for the second time this season. The Panthers won the non-region matchup 16-14, in a game that saw Newberry have a 14-0 halftime lead. Doodles has the Bulldogs by 2, Calpreps has the Panthers by 2.

Can Newberry play 4 quarters this week and limit the turnovers? Can BL build off of the 2nd half they played in the first matchup and shut Newberry down from the start?

Winner will travel to Abbeville for the 2nd round, unless Columbia pulls off the greatest upset of all time.

The only chances Columbia has is if the entire Abbeville program decides to shut the season down. I mean, I had a Columbia coach tell me they didn't know if they would have a team show up to get on the bus for the Newberry game.

Yep, that program is in shambles. The entire school is.

That program has been horrible since they ran Amick off for not winning a state title. Those running the show felt they could do better than the 10 win seasons he had going, and they were wrong.
