No pride gettin in the way here. Dorman will have to play the best game possible to even stay close. The offense can be dangerous at times when we are on a roll and the defense should earn a punt or two and maybe a turnover but no room for error. If we have even one flat quarter the game could get put out of reach by an opportunistic Byrnes team. Dorman always matches up fairly well with Byrnes and the past two years we've played good games but the Rebels just keep that pedal to the floor for 4 quarters.
I'm just gonna show up and have a good time either way. Dorman is good enough to beat Byrnes but even in our wins this year we've managed to make it difficult on ourselves.
All I can say is maybe one of my Byrnes buddies will buy me a chick-fil-a sandwich or something.

I have seen both teams countless times that year, I imagine no one has seen both teams more than me. I have seen 5 Dorman games and 5 Byrnes games in person this year.
I think some of the predictions here are a little out of line. I hold no (de)lusions about Dorman this year. They are their own worse enemy on top of MANY mind boggling coaching decisions which has cost one game directly and a second game was pissed away by the red zone offense. Dorman should be 8-1 right now rather than a mediocre 6-3.
Dorman has talent and speed, the 2 ingredients to keeping it respectable Friday. Dorman has more than 2 players. Byrnes is not 39 points better than Dorman, The Cavs are a tougher match up than Gaffney for the Rebels.
Still Dorman does not have near enough weapons, make wayyyyyy too many mistakes, really have not 4 quarters in a single game this year and as mentioned the coaching has been baffling at times.
Byrnes wins by 17 to 20 points in a game that is close early and then stretched out later by the much more talented Rebels.

This has to be the most eloquent and spot on assessment of the Cavs that I've read this year. I agree with everything. I just don't see Dorman playing perfect enough to win the game but I think our offense and defense are good enough not to let things be as lopsided as the Gaffney game. It's actually one of those types of games I really don't mind attending. My expectations are reasonable and I don't see how I'll be terribly disappointed Friday night unless the Cavs have a chance to win in the 4th and blow it. I'm just hoping win or lose the coaches take notes in case we have to play the Rebs again this year.

Sounds like Gaffney math to me... 5 = COUNTLESS
