Low numbers and not being competitive have to be the central reasons. So much for becoming the IMG of the Carolinas. Messed up some kids and disrupted the other local programs for a few years. What is the future of Legion as a school? Football is not the be all end all, but is this symptomatic of a bigger issue?

That’s what happens when you don’t want to follow schsl rules. They all thought they were above the law. Interesting to see if these kids go back to their original schools they left in the area.

Eligibility will fall back to the SCHSL's policy of 'you are always eligible somewhere' which has kept them out of a lot hot water.
And Legion followed the SCHSL rules. They just created a dynamic that wasn't/couldn't be envisioned by the old school good ole boys that make up the League office. If you could have done/thought up the same thing, you dang sure would have done it.
Haters are going to hate.

I would not have. Sane folks who started gray started legion with same mindset. If they legion wanted to follow rules then why’d they jump ship to nc private sports so fast. Then not even nc private sports wanted them. If they’d just done what they were supposed to they would still have a football program.

Also, the reason they couldn't find games was that like size school colluded to not schedule Legion. Was that 'against the rules'?

Why should local schools have an obligation to schedule a program that can get their students to come play for them? Losing students = losing funding. Makes no sense to aid/legitimize someone who is, at its best, a threat to the way you operate, right or wrong.

I love it. The folks in the area around Legion handled this perfectly by choosing to ignore them. Folks should so the same with Gray and Oceanside. Just refuse to play the wanna be IMGs that want to win championships with the players they recruit right off of every team in the area they can.
