Praying for his family. I did two terms in Afghanistan and it was hard on me but even harder on my family. The worry, the heartache and pain. Im so sorry for your loss, man.

Thanks for all the prayers everyone! The last 3 weeks have been the worst 3 weeks of my life. Scottie was 1 of my 3 younger brothers and was sadly killed in a drone attack in Syria on March 23. He had been contracting since 2008 and had actually quit about a year and a half ago. He married last April 30th and was the happiest I had ever seen him. He got a great job at Volvo but for reasons I cannot completely explain, signed up for one last year around Thanksgiving. He had resigned before he even told me because he knew I would try to talk him out of it. I begged him not to go back but his mind was made up. He started this huge backyard upgrade about 2 years back which included a pool. He needed a little more funds to be able to pay it off which was his reasoning for returning. I however know that the adrenaline rush he got from living on the edge was also a motivating factor. He always brushed it off to family as a fairly safe job on FOBs in the middle-east but I certainly knew better. 3 days before he was killed, the pool was filled with water and he has so proud of the final look of his backyard. We were planning on having my grandson's 4th birthday at his house on July 1st which is when he was scheduled to return for his summer break for a few weeks. Because the government and the company Scottie worked for were not releasing his name, the family decided to do so ourselves.

Below are stories from Live5News here in Charleston on my brother as well as the service we held for him.
