Goose Creek and Fort D....always tough. Goose Creek has a sub-par season for them last year and will be looking to be a lot better. Fort D. is always talent heavy....tough team.

The 2023 Beufort Eagles have some holes to fill from last season's State Championship team. The biggest of those being on the Offensive and Defensive lines. Playing in the Region that we play in, we should have little trouble with getting into the Playoffs. In a 5 Team Region with both North Charleston and Possum Hill, finishing in the top 3 is a given. The Eagles will go as far as Junior QB Samari Bonds will take us. We have a couple of more than capable running backs and Bonds should have a couple of wideouts who could prove instumental in his development as a dual threat QB. His running abilities along with his rifle strong arm, could prove too much for opposing defenses. If we can get some decent play from the o-line, the Eagle's offense could be lethal. My biggest concern going into the season, is our "I Don't Want To Be Here" head coach. Going to be a tough sell to get his players to buy in when they are aware that his head is elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised by the Eagle's on-field performances last season, but that Senior Class was loaded with talent and leadership. Hopefully that ethic rubbed off on this year's Seniors. We have a very tough pre-Region schedule again this season. Hopefully the Eagles can navigate that with the same dedication that we saw last year. It is one thing to be the hunter, but quite another to be the hunted. We will get everyone's best effort this year. To be the man, you have to beat the man. And Beaufort most definitely is the man now!

Did the Beaufort HC leave? I thought he was still there.

Unfortunately for us, all of the jobs that he applied for, didn't want him for whatever reason (lack of integrity). He is still here and now must face the daunting task of explaining to a bunch of impressionable teenagers, why he tried so hard to not be here. He has lost all credibility. He should have been fired long before now.

I thought the fans liked him there? People change jobs frequently by choice these days. That's the norm now it appears. Can't tele-commute and coach a football team. Not yet anyway.

I am sure that a lot of fans still like him. But it is apparent that he doesn't want to be here. Best if he isn't. If he didn't want to be here, then he shouldn't have came in the first place. DeVonte Holloman hired him as his OC when he came down here. When Holloman lost his sister and moved back to Rock Hill, Lybrand was promoted and gave this big speil about being so grateful for Beaufort giving him his first chance to be a head coach. Promised to be here as long as we wanted him. Said that the only other job that he wanted was going home to Greenwood. LIES, all LIES. He won the State Championship and told more LIES about loving this place. Then in a matter of weeks, his name surfaced at multiple other schools as applying for their head coaching position. Once you LIE, your credibility is shot. If he was working for me, I would have fired him on the spot as soon as he applied for another job. I won't argue that he has done a terrific job, but if your heart and your mind is elsewhere, you cannot do your job properly or efficiently. How would you feel if TK applied for a handful of jobs elsewhere but was rebuked? Be a tough sell for him to look his players in the eye and ask them to buy in to his agenda. Kind of like getting caught cheating on your wife. Hard to make her understand that you were just looking for an upgrade, and ask her to have you back all in the same breath.

Tom Terrific is old school it seems and will hopefully stay until he retires. But you are right, if you don't want to be where you are currently, it's time to move along...just be truthful and not false with your intent. There are worse places to be than Beaufort...sun, sand, ocean.
