2023 Daniel Lions Schedule
Here is the Lions schedule including the preseason scrimmages.
Scrimmages
8/3 @Hillcrest
8/7 JL Mann
8/11 Crest - Byrnes Jamboree
Regular Season
8/18 @Greer
8/25 Easley
9/1 BYE
9/8 @Hart County
9/15 @Pickens
9/22 @Riverside
9/29 Walhalla
10/6 @West-Oak
10/13 Seneca
10/20 @Pendleton
10/27 Crescent
51 days until the first scrimmage at Hillcrest which is a good team to see how the team looks in some real action. JL Mann comes to us the next Monday. We last scrimmaged them in 2015, they have improved every year with Coach Steve Watson so hopefully it will be good competition. We changed our third scrimmage/jamboree a few times but we are settled on the Byrnes Jamboree to play Crest out of NC, and they’re consistently one of the best teams in the southwestern part of their state so I’m excited to see us play them.
Regular season has us on the road frequently starting at Greer who has been trending down for the past few years which is a shame for that program. Easley is a game I’m looking forward to see, they’ve been improving the last few years and they have a solid young QB at the helm to lead them. Hart County should be a good game they were a tough team to put away last year. Pickens probably won’t be a challenge with their new staff. Riverside is improved but is still not on our level. Going into region it’s more than likely smooth sailing. Walhalla has a new coaching staff, West-Oak is West-Oak, Seneca is probably the toughest battle with it being the big rivalry game but I don’t think they will beat us this year but you never know. Pendleton and Crescent have no chance.
Had some staff changes and obviously a lot of new starters so that could get us going slow out the gate. I’d say it’ll be another undefeated regular season for the Lions if all goes right. But at worst I’d say 8-2 or 7-3 with losses to Hart County, Easley or Seneca.
