Both of these schools are busting at the seams and should be playing at the 5A level, yet they want to pull a Dillon and play down a classification while they still have a few athletes. Have fun while your rigged seasons last. Just know you couldn’t compete in your real class.

So how is this happening at So Flo & W Flo? With the growth that way it is inevitable.

Dillion had a State Rep for a HC and the General Assembly chose the school board members for that that district..... nice set up. Plus they massaged the numbers by using Lake View as an alternative School to manage their numbers.

The number of students in Florence 1 & Timmonsville (FS4) is essentially flat over that period. WF and SF are both slightly smaller than they were 8 years ago.

The HSL never released their final numbers, but 3 Horry County schools had growth and moved up which allowed the HSL to create a reasonable 5A-5 in the 2022-24 realignment, without including the smaller schools in Florence. The number of teams in 5A was decreased from 40 to 36. Those differences dropped 7 teams from 5A to 4A, SF and WF were among them.

When the state closed FS4 district and merged it with FS1, the students at Timmonsville MS and HS were given the choice of which FS1 school they wanted to attend. I don't know how many went to each school. It is possible that the students from T'ville might push WF or SF back up to 5A, but we won't know until the next realignment.

I sat right behind him at one of the state championships. Can't stand Clemson but he seemed like a fine person. He's not an ugly man in my opinion. There ain't one pretty enough that I'd wanna kiss but not because they're ugly.

I don’t get where that’s coming from. Maybe those Florence schools have been way down because their facilities have been non existent for so long.
They put some money into the schools make it more attractive and imagine that , they get competitive all of a sudden.

As far as who their playing the kids that are out there have zero say in who that is. They don’t get into that, nor do I think they care. Btw you conveniently left off the fact that w. Florence also beat Byrnes this year.
I could make the argument that 4A is much deeper with true contenders than 5A is.

As far as Dillon goes . They had their most success when they were on the 2a level so if their manipulating their numbers to stay in 3a that goes against what your saying.
