Issacs coached at Pickens for 29 years, winning 181 games and nine regional championships. He was named Conference Coach of the Year nine times.

During Isaacs’ tenure, Pickens won 57 consecutive regular-season games between 1969 and 1975.

Isaacs became head coach of PHS in 1965 at age 24, and retired in 1993.
