What's the rule on having an ambulance dedicated to football games. I am just curious as to what the rule is and what happens if that ambulance has to leave?
Also what are the rules about being a coach and an administrator

I asked that same question about 4 years ago.racincowboy02 wrote:What's the rule on having an ambulance dedicated to football games. I am just curious as to what the rule is and what happens if that ambulance has to leave?
I was told by a gentleman that has worked several years as a High School referee
that ambulances are NOT required at the games.
It is something that is up to each district or each athletic dept.
I don't know if anything has changed since then.
All the coaches that I know, gave up coaching when they became administrators.racincowboy02 wrote:Also what are the rules about being a coach and an administrator
I don't know if this is a rule, or if it just depends on each district's policy?

Would it not be in the best interest of the players coaches and fans to have an ambulance dedicated to the event. I don't understand why they wouldn't make it to where you had to have one there I know Gaffney has one but if they get a call or they get busy then they have to leave

I've never seen the ambulance leave Flo memorial during a game. The presence of an ambulance is a big deal in Hartsville.
YouTube Video - Questions surround death of Hartsville football player
They mention in the video that neither state law or SCHSL rules require an ambulance to be on-site.
I think the AD/Coach is up to the district. Chuck Jordan was both at Conway until this year when he resigned the AD position. Wasn't Bobby Bently both at Byrnes for a while?

One of my friends is with the West Spartanburg Fire and Rescue and he said "Availability is the key.."racincowboy02 wrote:Would it not be in the best interest of the players coaches and fans to have an ambulance dedicated to the event. If they are needed at a serious accident or other situation, why would you have them "just in case" at the game? There are only so many available and they have to prioritize them where the need is the greatest.

Bobby Bentley was working with the superintendent's office but not a superintendent or assistant, nor admin at the school.SF Band dad wrote:I've never seen the ambulance leave Flo memorial during a game. The presence of an ambulance is a big deal in Hartsville.

Coach Young was the Athletic Director at Byrnes while Bentley was the HC.

I just remembered, Trey Woodberry is both AD and head football coach at West Florence.
As AD, Woodberry hoping to ramp up West athletics

I don't think the question is Athletic Director, but in "Administration"... as in superintendents and Principal or Vice Principal, I believe....

I'm guessing some don't care if the coach holds higher government positions....

Re: What Are The Rules
I see what you are saying 74 and I understand that I just thought that was a rule that an ambulance had to be there
The question about the coach is about being in the administration role such as 74 mentioned I'm getting conflicting reports on what is right I'm being told that if join are an admin then you can't coach. Then I've got others saying it doesn't matter as long as it's not the head coach which doesn't make a lot of sense either.
