Well the "kicking to the curb" statement was directed at 62's comment that some fans think after last Friday that the season is over. I would be surprised if any Byrnes fans felt that way. Of course there is some grumbling but I would think the masses should feel pretty good. Kinda the same thing at Dorman, there are those that believe we should be performing better than we have the last 4 years. It can be tricky going from a good team to a great team.

I did not realize there was a realistic chance Spartanburg might be in Div 1.

I have to assume you mean me. :D

Not a bad idea actually. Kind of a win/win. Dorman wins and Vic has to retire his screen name, I come off a hero and get hoisted up on everyone's shoulder. Vikes win and I retire a misspelled screen name and also the final push I might need to quit a bad habit, namely posting on a once great but now broken board.

I might take you up on that suggestion!

I agree with Cavaliereagle , Lane made some really bad calls especially the fake punt and the going for it on 4th down on your on 30 against a team like SHS . I also agree with 74 also ....Bentley had some horrible seasons in the beginning of his career but Bentley did not have the program Byrnes has now so , I think the fans , school and administration are not gonna be as lenient now as they were back then .......you have to get it done nowadays if you are a top program like Byrnes is now . When you win like Byrnes has the past 12 to 13 years everybody expects results , I guess you would say it's the nature of the beast for being a top program in SC now .JMO
You are right: the fans, school and admin are not gonna be too lenient if this keeps up. If Lane can't get it done, they will want to find someone who can. The playcalling was pretty darn bad Thurs.

Shut Victory6 DOWN! He will want to name call, but kill him with kindness. Oh it can happen.

Let me start by saying that Byrnes has a very good team. They will probably go deep in the Big 16 play-offs. Maybe even win it. But.....You do not really want to see Byrnes and Vikings in good weather. The weather neutralized SHS and their speed as they are faster than Rebels at skill positions and quicker than Rebels in the trenches. On a dry field the Vikings would have had 20 sacks. Feaster would have rushed for 200 yards on a dry field as he had 127 in that mess. The Rebs should take a moral victory in holding the Vikes to their lowest totals of the season. Concentrate on Dorman as they are the key to the remainder of the Rebels' season.

Spartanburg is the better team all around I'm proud of my rebels for making it close but let's be real all of us knew this spartanburg team was going to be tough to handle and so far they have lived up to the hype! Congrats spartanburg I don't see anyone beating u this year!it would not matter the conditions if they played 5 times this year spartanburg would win all 5! We should start giving Chris miller props for what he has done over there! Its good for all of us if spartanburg is relavent again! Makes for great games and great hype and I love every min. Of it!

I agree 110% with you!!!! Not taking anything away from Gaffney, Rock Hill County, or the rest of the state but Spartanburg County (Vikings, Rebels, & Cavs) football is some of the best of the best right now. Just think about original Region II-4A (Vikings, Rebels, Cavs, Trojans, Bearcats, Yellow Jackets, Bulldogs, & Indians). The competition is insane!!! Congrats to all because if you aren't winning now, you will be again.

Absolutely positively I would love to see Spartanburg again... No matter the weather who wouldn't. Spartanburg was the better team that night and well they are today, but that wasn't Byrnes Rebel Football Thursday night. I don't look forward to Dorman. Dorman doesn't define our season right now.. Riverside does the week... as does JL Mann next week then so on. I look at it game by game. Football is one of those puzzling things if you're not a believer just watch college football on any given Saturday. There is a ton of football left to be played. I didn't congratulate the Vikings on here yet but... Congrats Vikings and Coach Miller.

Lets be real honest hear. The Rebel team seems to have a disipline problem. The practices dont even seem to be as rough as they used to be. I also feel that the oline is getting bashed by fans incorrectly due to the QB holding the ball to long. He can not run around in the back field dancing and then take a sack. If you dont have an open receiver...throw the ball away. At some point the QB needs to start trusting his play makers to go up and get the ball. Personal foul penalties have killed so many drives this year.....Im at a loss for words about it. JMO. ;)

As for the vikings. They are riding the benefits of a good running back and a QB that eats dinner wih the OC(Byrnes had that benefit for years). They also have a pretty good D. I dont feel they are as good as Byrnes D. But..They are good. Bottom line...Byrnes lost that game due to poor Off. execution. Again....JMO.

I still feel as though Byrnes has a good shot down the stretch. I just hope lanes woes of losses in the play offs dont follow him this season.
If you cant walk it..You prolly shouldnt talk it!!
