I will see if Jed or Richard can get a statement from the N/S game on how they will handle the situation.

The calendar now looks likes this.

Class 1A State championships will be Dec. 4
Class 2A State championships will be Dec. 5

Class 3A and both 4A will be Saturday December 12th in Columbia,
The North South All Star Game in Myrtle Beach will be the same date if not moved.

The Shrine Bowl will be December 19th at Wofford College, Spartanburg.
From what I have read the schsl is in talks about this date too...my guess is it would be played the week after shrine bowl. That would make sense but then again if it makes sense it won't happen
Im not sure they would play it on December 26th, the kids would be away from home on Christmas. Why not play it the same day as Shrine Bowl. I know it wouldn't be perfect, but the players are different and the games are not connected in any way.
They won't move the North/South game. A December 26th date and attendance would be terrible. In addition, that would keep the North/South players from playing winter sports.
I think what will happen is the 3A and 4A players selected whose teams make the State title will just be out of luck. Unfortunate, but I don't see another scenario.
Yep, everyone of those players selected would gladly miss that game to be playing for a state title.
I am sure they would miss it, but at the same time, I am sure these young men will hate to miss the All-Star game. Many of them look forward to being selected to an all-star game and getting to play with the other state's best on the same team. They enjoy sharing team decals and it is a treat for them. Again, unfortunate, but not sure what else can be done since the SCHSL has made the decision. I would have been for just shortening the season by a game for the team's affected. Then in 1A, 2A, 3A just go by region finish, as they currently already do. For the 4A, since points are involved, give each team an additional write off.

Actually, region finished are used in 4A as well. Once region finishers are grouped by their finish, then points are used. I know just throwing a game away was the easy thing to do, but for the fairest way to do playoffs, everyone needs to play their full season.

Like for 4A teams depending on 3A teams to have a winning record, the 4A team needs that 3A team to play 11 games if they make the playoffs.
