Sorry, is it OK for me to severely profoundly disagree with this horrible statewide "poll" on this erudite forum? OK, thanks.WRHIRadio wrote:http://www.wrhi.com/2015/10/ots-sports- ... k-8-119283

Sure, everyone has their own opinion. But instead of just disagree, why not share who your top ten would be, using their guidelines. They rank the top ten, regardless of classification. So, who would you put?Sibilance wrote:Sorry, is it OK for me to severely profoundly disagree with this horrible statewide "poll" on this erudite forum? Tell them why they are "stupid"? Really, because someone shares their opinion, they are suddenly stupid? Disagree all you want, but back that up, and please refrain from name calling. I was under the impression this board was above that.SF Band dad wrote:Yeah, we're here to talk football. Rip 'em a new one. Dude, sorry I rained on your poll. You obviously have a stake in it to be defending it on both forums. Either that or you know one of the polled experts.
I think anyone who puts so many 3A schools ahead of hugely successful 4A programs is trying to look like they know what they are talking about. When they obviously don't. For me to make that judgement does not require me to be able to craft the correct top 10. In fact, it cannot be done. That "poll" is an attempt to portray that they know what they are talking about. When they don't.

Unfortunately I do not have a stake in the poll other than I do listen to some of their broadcasts on Friday nights. I live in the Charleston area and no connection to them. What "successful" 4A programs are you speaking of? I am not aware enough of some of the teams to defend one way or the other, but I for one, would put South Pointe up there. They went toe to toe with Northwestern and are a dropped pass on a 2pt conversion try in overtime from beating NW. South Pointe also beat Vance (on the road) out of Charlotte, who was the 3rd ranked 4A team in North Carolina at the time. As for Hartsville, they look to be strong again, sporting an undefeated record including a 31 point win at Conway (who is currently 6-1 and ranked #10 in another poll). So pretty sure Hartsville can compete with the "Big boys" of 4A. As for Greer, they are undefeated, but don't know much else about them.Sibilance wrote:Dude, sorry I rained on your poll. The issue I have is you can "dog" the poll and go crazy but you have nothing to show for YOUR thoughts. If you are going to tell someone they are wrong, show how you are right. So, again, what would YOUR top ten be?

I think Central should be #1. Simply because I pull for them.

Ha, your opinion is your opinion. But on a serious note, everyone is quick to condemn polls, rankings, etc. Why don't people put together their own poll and see how it compares? Put together a poll of who you truly feel are the top ten teams in the state.cavaliereagle wrote:I think Central should be #1. Simply because I pull for them.
