I wouldn't be surprised to see Boiling Springs get past Ashley Ridge.trojangrad78 wrote:1. 8 West Ashley / 9 Dorman

Dorman over West Ashley
Boiling Springs over Ashley Ridge
Neither of the above would surprise me for the Div I bracket.

Does anyone have anything on West Ashley? I confess to knowing absolutely nothing about this school. And I haven't heard any distant rolling thunder about them in the 5 years I've been on the boards. I don't assume Dorman will beat them Friday but I can't help thinking if we lost that it would be a case of an 8 team upsetting a 9 team.
I know I would be upset!

West ashley is physical. They have a really good back that has close to 2000 rushing yards. They have some speed and they are very athletic. Don't sleep on them.

West Ashley is a nice little area of Charleston that has sort of been forgotten with areas like Mount Pleasant growing so much the past few years. It's a very convenient area in that it's sort of a central location and you are very close to downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, the beaches/islands, North Charleston and Goose Creek and Summerville are right around the corner. I can literally get to any of these places in less than 15-20 minutes from West Ashley. Some good shopping and good restaurants as well, my band plays in West Ashley quite often and the nightlife is underrated and overshadowed by the clubs downtown - but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you ask the locals. If I worked downtown and had to commute for work I'd probably choose to live in West Ashley because it's affordable, the location is so convenient, and the community is a little quieter than downtown and less snobby than Mount Pleasant. It's really a nice and underrated area that I really enjoy.
what?...Oh the football team? Yeah you should beat them by multiple touchdowns.

The Dorman D has done well against the run this year. It's the pass defense that hasn't been able to put games away that we lost.fdgrad00 wrote:West ashley is physical. Thanks for the info! Me and Dorman#1 may get a post game meal after the game. If anyone in the Charleston area wants to meet up with us let me know!dfactor26 wrote:DeCav wrote:Does anyone have anything on West Ashley? I confess to knowing absolutely nothing about this school. Hit me up when your game ends, I might be able to swing by if you stop somewhere after the game.

Re: 4A first round lower seed "upset"s ??
Westwood winning definitely wouldn't be an upset.

With the youthfulness of the Tigers coupled with the experience of the Redhawks in the trenches...........I would say advantage Westwood!!!!Redhawks wrote:Westwood winning definitely wouldn't be an upset.
