Emerald looked good, but I kinda feel like they may have had an off night. I had the opportunity to speak to some of their kids. I was truly impressed to see how well mannered they were. It's refreshing to see in today's society. We could use more of that around here.
congrats to RNE.i also thought the game would have been closer.
I live less than a mile from EMERALD high school.i have talked
with coach MAC at EMERALD.he is a real nice guy also.my great
grandson will go to EMERALD in a couple more years.
Their qb had a very accurate arm. With him at the helm, I think they should have come up with a more elaborate passing scheme.

First of all congrats to RNE on the win. They played a great game on both sides if the ball and deserved the victory. RNE was probably the biggest and fastest team Emerald played this year except for maybe Abbeville and Greer. I agree Dreek Jones can throw the ball but the problem is Emerald doesn't have an any consistent WRs except for KJ Chamberlin who is a better DB than he is a WR imo. Emerald also had 2 RBs that could carry the ball well in Settles and Reynolds, not to mention that Jones can also make plays with his feet which is why Emerald ran the spread option this year. It fit to the strength of the team to run more than pass. I would have loved to have seen Emerald play a spread hurry up offense at times this year with Jones throwing down field just to change it up some and keep defenses off balance.

I have a question for everybody here. I noticed on the RNE sideline they had a TV where they could review game film from previous possessions and use as a coaching tool. Now I don't' have a problem with that except that if you do not provide the same capability to the visiting team I feel it provides an unfair coaching advantage for the home team. Now I''m not saying that's why Emerald lost but I do think it provides an unfair coaching advantage to one team over the other.

Well my son's school TL Hanna has their own tv at every game to review plays during the game so it depends on the school and coaching staff.

Every school has the capability to do this, they just have to buy the software and the televisions. Its not unfair, just some teams choose not to spend the money on it. Their are multiple companies who offer the software to give real time replays. It isn't cheap, but any team can do it.

I believe it's an unfair advantage but we will agree to disagree on that. Your right schools may have the ability to do it but not the money in the athletic budget to do it. Speaking from experience I can say it's much easier to understand where you went wrong on a play if you can see yourself make the mistake on film and it's easier for the coaching staff to catch mistakes real time in a game they may have not caught if they didn't have the film to review during the game. Look like I said I don't blame the loss on it because RNE was clearly the better team last Friday night. They showed up to play and Emerald didn't but I just think that if one team has a capability the other team should have the same capability as well during a game.JMO
