Airport VS Hartsville

Congrats to Hartsville on a good win. Airport had a great defensive effort Friday night. They kept the Red Foxes Scoreless in the first and third quarters and only one scoring drive in the fourth. BUT...... there was a seven minutes to start the second that cost them the game. The Red Foxes were on the one yard line to start the second Quarter. They scored on the first play. Then it fell apart for the Eagles. After a 5 yard gain from the 40 they had a holding, offside and chop block penalties. Leaving 2nd and 35 from the 10 yard line. Then QB scrambled and fumbled in the endzone and Hartsville recovered. Next two drives ended in interceptions. One a pick six and one to the 4 yard line. So with 4 min left to the half the score was 28-0. Hartsville did not score again until late in the Fourth. Airport managed a Field goal early in the fourth and a TD pass with 1 second left in the game. the Eagles had two first downs inside the 5 yard line but were stopped for no points and a third that ended with the field goal.
Airports defense only gave up two long scoring drives. It was a super effort by our defense we just could not get the offense going. When you make mistakes against a well coached team that plays as good sound football as the Red Foxes they will take advantage of that.
It was still a great season for the Eagles. We just had to many injuries to key players during the season
