Byrnes has seven opponents that are still in the playoffs (8 made the playoffs), having beat 6 of them. Sumter only has one opponent left in the playoff (5 made the playoffs), Dutch Fork. DF won that game 47-21.

Opponent record- regular season
Byrnes 67-55
Sumter 48-71

Clearly Byrnes has played the tougher schedule, we will see if that matters on Friday night.

Sometimes playing tough teams matter sometime it don't. Its all about matchups. For example like a team that is is strong all year have hard schedule but faces a team that runs an offense that you haven't seen before and that same offense exploits your main weakness.

If the Fort Dorchester team that played against Ashley Ridge shows up Fort will win, if the Fort team that played against Spring Valley shows up they will lose. I hate to be so simplistic about it but that's just how I see it. Fort went into that highly anticipated game against AR and went up 47-7 in the 3rd and rested starters through the 4th. Although Boiling Springs did beat Ashley Ridge by 20 points it was still a 13 point game in the 4th quarter. Obviously both teams were good enough to be the only teams to beat Ashley Ridge this season though, so I don't think this is a mismatch in any way. I just really believe that when Fort Dorchester plays to their potential they are a really hard team to beat. The question is...will they play that way? With such a young team it's hard to say...

In the other games I'll take Dorman,Byrnes,Hillcrest.

I agree 100%........Conway's weakness this year was on the OL and DL (started 6 sophomores and 1 freshman). Tigers faced three teams with experience in the trenches and got hammered in all 3. So, unless Byrnes and Northwestern can match up with Sumter and Westwood in the trenches they may be in for a long night. Westwood's OL is impressive from a size factor. Sumter is very solid on both the OL and DL.... and both have capable running backs. Neither will wow you with a passing game tho.........so stop the run and you win. Sumter is much more imposing on defense. Solid on all three level. Both are well above average on special teams too.

We had over 400 yds of total offense in the Dutch Fork game. How do you rack up 415 yds of offense against Dutch Fork, out gaining them in yards, and lose...commit 7 turnovers. Quentein Anderson ran for over 200 in that game too. He just put it on the ground too much. I believe he has only had one fumble since.

Friday, if we don't turn the ball over, and Byrnes can't stop the run, Byrnes will be in big trouble.

Of course. I expect nothing less than a great game win or lose. The sad part is I believe Byrnes is going to have a bigger crowd than us. Hope that's not the case, but Sumter will play hard regardless.

A lot of our current starters do have something that all Byrnes players do not have...championship game experience. They've been to where the current Byrnes team is trying to go. We'll see if that helps us out a little bit.

I would not be surprised about the crowd size at all. Byrnes' crowd usually grows a bunch each week of the playoffs. This isn't a championship game though, its a big game and Byrnes plays in more of those than anyone. The lights will not be too bright for Byrnes.
