The People's Champ
Re: The People's Champ
I think a lot of posters would like to see South Florence win it all

Re: The People's Champ
Realistically, I think each school has a small number of over the top idiot fans that occasionally ruin it for the majority, which are good fans.
Every so often, there is a "problem" kid that just seems unable to stay out of trouble.
Unfortunately, there does exist a few schools that seem plagued by coaches that seem to foster and encourage that "thug" or "bad a$$" mentality/behavior and that turns many off supporting that school.
Sometimes, some schools create image and/or perception problems for themselves by seemingly unnecessarily running up scores or running afoul of eligibility rules.
Now before anyone goes off half cocked that I am calling attention to any specific school, that would be an incorrect assumption. I am presenting a response more along the line of who is NOT "the people's champ". Issues are not limited just to the 4A schools, which many are tunnel visioned on.....but across all classes. As Dave posted, there are issues related to private schools playing public schools in the 2A/1A classes that has some real relevance to unfair advantages by the private schools over the public schools.
There is no perfect team/school/coach/set of fans/stadium/location/athlete/...etc.
Pull for your school. Pull for your friend's school. Pull for the school you want to beat over "that" school. Most of all, enjoy the game for what it is....HIGH SCHOOL....played by teenagers, not adults. Be an adult fan. Have fun. Win/lose, support the kids.

Thanks to our State Championship game in 1993.. i will NEVER root for Northwestern... NEVER!!!!trojangrad78 wrote:Based on schools I know, I would put Dorman and Northwestern up at the top of the list.
Other than Marlboro County with Northwestern.....story for another time and place......I think very few people have had any issues with how these teams have presented themselves on the field and the fans have always been pretty classy.
My 2 cents worth...........
