This discussion illustrates how slack the SCHSL is. I kept hearing about additonal appeals and changes in the low-country, but they post nothing on their website, they can't be bothered to put out a press release.
I too found the article from the State - Lou Bezjak - August 29, 2017
http://www.thestate.com/sports/high-sch ... rylink=cpy
....and after several minutes of specific searches I found this released from Stall High School earlier today:

RB Stall set to move up to 5A
By bobbysmith on October 2, 2017
After a nearly two month long process of appeals, RB Stall is excited to announce it will be moving into 5A Region VIII next year.
Under the original SCHSL realignment for 2018-2020, RB Stall was slated to be AAAA in a Region with Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort High School. Due to the extreme travel requirements and loss of classroom instructional time, RB Stall appealed to swap with Colleton County High School and move to AAAAA.
After an appeal hearing was held before the SCHSL Executive Board which resulted in the motion being denied, RB Stall and Colleton appealed directly to the AAAA & AAAAA classifications to make the swap. The AAAA classfication board voted 10-0 in favor of the swap and the AAAAA classification board voted 11-0 in favor.
With this vote, RB Stall will be in a region with Fort Dorchester, Summerville, Ashley Ridge and West Ashley High School. Colleton County High School will replace Stall in AAAA Region VII with Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head. This change will be in place for the 2018-2019 school year and the 2019-2020 school year.

Re: 2018 realignment
news and courier:
Stall to move to Class AAAAA
In a last ditch effort, Stall High School was granted permission to join Class AAAAA and send Colleton County down to Class AAAA for the 2018-19 school year.
In the latest SCHSL realignment plans, Stall was projected to be in Class AAAA in a region that included Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head and Berkeley. Berkeley successfully appealed its desire to move to Class AAAAA to the state appeals board. Stall, however, lost its appeal to both the executive committee of the SCHSL as well as the appeals board.
Stall took its case to the board of directors for Class AAAAA and was accepted by a 10-0 vote. Class AAAA also approved the move and allowed Colleton County to switch places with Stall and move to Class AAAA.
Colleton County will now be in region 7-AAAA while Stall will move into region 8-AAAAA.

No Slick. SF Band Dad is right. Region 8 5A will contain teams from the Columbia Area and Sumter. The Lowcountry Regions will now be 6 5A and 7 5A.CITYSLICKER wrote:STALL IS IN REGION 8 5AAAAA

Re: 2018 realignment - Update: Stall and Colleton Co. win ap
HSL is doing "hybrid" regions for 5A, 4A, and 2A.
Those Hybrid Regions will consist of teams that, come playoff time, could participate either in lower state or upper state half of bracket. Whether those Regions will be called "Region 4" or "Region 8" (in 5A) / "Region 7" (in 4A & 2A) has still yet to be determined. These regions are made up of mainly midlands teams that could go either direction (upper or lower state) when playoff time comes around. There is still bickering as to whether they just make those Region 4 or make them the last region in the classification....
either way, the teams in the regions, the SFBD, has posted up there matches what I have seen....with the change of Stall and Colleton Co...."in a last ditch effort".....might I add. So regardless of if Sumter, Blythewood, Irmo, Lugoff, & Spring Valley is Region 4 or Region 8, that is the RIGHT region and the others all contain the right teams that would be in regions together.

Nah, you're not my daddy and I'll never call you daddy. I admit I was misinformed...but also was a "last ditch effort" for Stall that happened 6 days earlier than my response...with very little coverage on it. So no...I won't respond in that manner.
