I spoke to EHS-MG about this one last night. We're guessing the back judge couldn't see the receiver's feet from the middle of the field. He runs over to confer with the side judge, they speak for a few seconds, the back judge signals touchdown. We can't see where the side judge was, we're guessing that he mistook the DB's feet for the receiver's. The DB's feet are clearly in, the receiver's both land out.

An alternate theory is that the TV crew told the refs to spice up the game a bit,.....

Coaching for Conway...particularly on offense played a big part. I thought the play calling was very predictable. I think Conway will be okay defensively. But...if the defense makes the tackle at the 2 yard line with 3 seconds left, the missed call is a mute point. That’s not coaching. 5A football players have to make those plays.
