Though I personally think Hanna is a bit overrated and have played a rather weak schedule and they might not even make it that far. A 4th place team in the very tough Region 2 like Boiling Springs or an improving Northwestern team is capable of knocking Hanna out in the second round. Remember that Hanna made an early departure last year. I don’t trust them. And I don’t think they beat Dorman if they do make it to that game...Hanna has not seen a defense as good as Dorman’s...not even close. Dorman and Gaffney will meet in a rematch for the upper state title.
Perhaps you failed to watch the Georgia Tech v. Virginia Tech game on Thursday night. The Nerds hung haf-a-hundred on one of the best defenses in the nation. Unless you play against Wing T teams regularly, it can be a long night for the best of defenses. The Nerds have now beaten Virgina Tech 4 out of the last 5 years, 3 years in a row, and Virginia Tech Head Coach Justin Fuentes has NEVER beaten the Nerds. Bud Foster, the Virginia Tech defensive coordinator, is one of the best in the country. He has been in the same position for 32 years now.
Don't try to tell me that any team has a defense that can stand up to the Wing T. They don't. The defensive coordinator for whomever draws Hanna won't sleep for a week trying to prepare for it. Can it be stopped? Of course it can or everyone would run it. But it takes time and patience to understand it. Strictly assignment football on defense. Forget your eyes, just do what you are taught. Nothing more, nothing less. And these are High School kids we are talking about. 4 year college starting defenders struggle with it. Trust me, NOBODY wants to play Hanna.
