AAAAA Playoffs (what if scenario)

Post by Do_It_Right!!!!! »

This is what the AAAAA playoffs would look like if the region champs were given the top seeds....and then we went by the MaxPreps power rankings for the top 32
of course the rankings wouldn't be finalized till Saturday and it would change

That looks like a better 32 than what we'll actually get. MaxPreps takes strength of schedule into account, the SCHSL has decided that is irrelevant. :x

Nope don't like it not one bit. YOu have to flip Byrnes and Gaffney and then I would like it lol let the rebels have the match up against Dutch Fork in the 3rd rnd and watch them get crushed lol jk

On a serious note I really do like that a whole lot better than what the retards at the SCHSL do with the playoffs

I have always liked the crossbracketing.
But unless the state widens I-26 OR you can start your travel at noon on a friday in November you can't get to the game by 7:30 pm.
The last 2 years going from Summerville to Dutch Fork has taken almost 5 hours to get to the game.
2 years ago going to Dutch fork the game didn't start until 8:30 pm because the Wave was stuck in traffic..

I thought that is what big 16 and little 32 basically did was consider strength of schedule. It's impossible to make everyone happy!

Greenwood fans would probably be happier with big 16. They wouldn't be stuck in 5A.

Realistically though maxpreps cannot judge every team to accurately rate a strength of schedule. This board could be more accurate as to our respective state.

Agreed. MaxPreps Freeman rankings do a pretty good job, but there's no way we would turn over seeding to a computer algorithm that is not disclosed and verifiable.

We've discussed putting together statewide rankings. We've considered algorithms like Maxpreps and Doodles, we've considered doing a poll of "select members" that somehow qualify.

There are good people here that really know HS football. Its amusing to hear radio "football experts" reading our posts verbatim.
