When my brother graduated he just stopped worrying about it. Rarely attends a game. It's not very loyal I guess, but he doesn't get stressed. Like I said. In the end it's a game and should be about fun.

Same, of course. We've never really avoided competition. Spartanburg and Dorman have always been schools we competed against annually. At one time Byrnes and Gaffney were consistently in the mix. It seemed to make us better even if we didn't always win them all.

I totally agree with you. It always made us better no matter the outcome. We were always prepared for the playoffs.

Is the talent level in Greenwood what it used to be? I remember back in when Coach Babb was there, we used to scrimmage you guys every year at Furman University......Incredible talent......

I realize this question isn't for me, but there is always talent in Greenwood. It's one of those places. Like Gaffney is.

Totally agree with that. Greenwood always has talent. Even Emerald. Saw them play last year. Had as much, in in most cases quite a bit more, talent than anybody in 3A. Not sure how they could lose as many games as they did.

Have to be more than just athletic to get to the big dance I think. That's where the coaches come in. I feel like players can and should be developed early to allow for a greater chance at success. Especially the skilled positions. In example, a school should already know who's going to be qb because they've been molding them since middle school or earlier. I don't believe in just throwing somebody in at qb who hasn't been gearing up for it. Sure anybody athletic can run, but what about when it's time to step back and read coverages? Like I said. All of this is my opinion. I could be totally wrong in some cases.

Talent has never been an issue in Greenwood. We stay loaded every year. Here are some questions I'm still trying to figure out.

1. How is the talent being utilized each year?
2. Are we getting the full potential out of each player?
3. Are players being developed in the system correctly or at an early stage?
4. Are players transitioning smoothly from 9th grade to JV to Varsity?
5. Do players understand the system established at the high school?
6. Are we confident in competing at a high level?

We have to target these things and correct anything that needs fixing.

Guys listen, I completely agree with most of what is being said but seriously....we can't afford to have all of this negativity before the season even starts. Everyone has to be on the same page. We all want to win. Pippin hasn't been getting it done to the Greenwood standard no doubt but as Eagle 93 said Pippin does his thing his way. If we don't have an athletic QB who can run and pass we won't be any good in his system. That's just the way it is. If we should be upset at anyone it should be at the board for hiring the wrong person. But let's be honest, we all wanted Pippin over Nichales when we had the choice. The Abbeville coach didn't have the resume then that he has now. Be mad at administration not the coach. Pippin's just doing what he's always done. No excuse but it is what it is
