Ok. Can the mods please explain what warrants a thread getting locked down? Is it no interest? Is it name calling? Is it just something that you, yourself, aren't interested in? What is it?
SFBandDad states that the only things that should be posted on are information about teams or other things with credible verified sources. If thats the case, then is this really a message board or is it a media website? The purpose of a message board is to discuss rumors and what folks are "hearing". Have debates/discussions about it and maybe share some information that wouldn't be found elsewhere. If folks wanted "verified sources" its likely they can find that from their favorite media outlet. The Northwestern head coaching and then athletic director situation is obviously a hot topic with some of things discussed throughout this process being true. For some of us, this was the place we first heard the rumors. It is a shame that this topic has been locked down/shut out because honestly the admins just aren't interested in it. These are the same type of things that led to the demise of Palmetto Football Talk, mods got too involved and shut down topics for no reason. What I loved about this forum was it was not controlled by a media
So, using your model of "verified sources" for topics, I look forward to seeing how many threads are deleted/locked down when verified sources are not given.

Re: Locking Off and Shutting Down of Topics
Please understand that Topics are sometimes removed and/or locked when posts have crossed a certain line.
This is a board that is run by volunteers.
We provide this space to discuss SC Prep Sports for free.
Mods here have everyday lives that they live.
Sometimes we just don't have the time to explain the "why" and the time to moderate posts individually.
Weeding through several posts to remove the portions of a post that crossed this line can be very time consuming.
Especially when the post in question has been "Quoted" several times.
Unfortunately, we can't be by our computers 24/7 to catch these posts when they occur.
For example:
One topic was removed because...
1. Statements of a too personal nature in regards to a student/athlete were being posted and then "Quoted" in responses.
2. Veiled accusations of a serious nature were also suggested about Coaches/Admins.
Problems that severe should be reported to the school's administration immediately.
Posters that feel this strongly about these situations
may use their own personal social media accounts to level such accusations.
It is not our intention to hide such problems.
The mods of this website are not perfect, we make mistakes.
But please trust that we are doing our best to provide a good place to discuss High School sports.
We will try to provide an updated version of the overall expectations for this website when time allows....
Thanks to everyone that takes the time to post at SCPrepTalk.
