Re: ITs Racing Season WooHoo
Let me ask you guys a question if you could race 2 weekends and win 110K would you do it? That happened this past weekend with Chris Madden won the North/South 100 making it 2 for 2 on crown jewel events. Before these 2 weekends Madden has never won a crown jewel event. After this weekend he is a 2 time crown jewel winner. Madden would start the North/South 100 in the 10th starting spot. Jimmy Owens would lead the 1st 18 laps of the race and on lap 19 Bobby Pierce would fly by Owens and lead until lap 34 when Owens would take the lead back and lead until the caution would fly for Bobby Pierce on lap 72. The race would resume and Owens and Madden would have a side by side battle for the next 4 laps and Madden would finally slip past Owens on lap 76 and take off for the remainder of the race. Madden would bring the checkers home and win the North/South 100 for the 1st time and pocket the 50K to win money.

The Lucas Oil Series will be in Batesville Arkansas starting on Thursday August 15th for the Topless 100. This weekend will have 3 full nights of racing for Lucas points and will pay 10K to win on both Thursday and Friday night and will conclude with a 40K to win Topless 100. This is the only time that you will see the national touring guys with the roof off of the car. This race is pretty cool to watch from the stands cause you will get to see more of what the drivers get to do inside the cock pit of the car.
The World of Outlaw series will be in action this weekend starting Friday night on what is called the mid atlantic swing as they will be in PA starting on Friday night at the famous Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg PA for a 10K to win show. Saturday they will travel to Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal PA for another 10K to win show and then on Sunday they will travel to Eriez Speedway in Erie PA for the final 10K to win show.
On the local level it looks like an action packed weekend of racing as well. Tuesday night in a rare mid week race the Carolina Speedway in Gastonia NC will host the 47th annual Shrine 100 race with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series coming to the track for a 4K to win show. The Shrine 100 is held specifically to raise money and awareness for the Shriners Hospital for Children. The Shriners Hospital for Children is a hospital with several locations across the United States and other countries who strive to prove the highest quality of care to the children of their hospitals. The closest Shriners Hospital for Children is located in Greenville, SC.
The classes running Tuesday night will be Carolina Clash Super Late Models, SECA Open Wheel Modifieds for 700 to win, Super Street Stock for 700 to win, SECA Thunder Sportsman for 500 to win, SECA Thunder Bombers for 400 to win and last but not least the Hornet division with a 400 to win main event.
Saturday night Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney SC will host the UMP Dirt Modifieds in a Dirt Cup Challenge. 604 Crate Late Model, Limited Sportsman, Crate Sportsman, Extreme 4, Young Guns, Thunder Bomber will also be on the program.
Travelers Rest Speedway in Travelers Rest SC will host the Mid-East Open Wheel Modified Tour
Extreme 4, Pure Stock, Thunder Bomber, TB Futures, Crate Sportsman

Re: ITs Racing Season WooHoo
The Lucas Oil Series was at it again this weekend for 40K to win at the Topless 100. Thursday night got started with qualifying and the fast qualifier for group A was Mike Marlar with a time of 13.445 and the fast qualifier for group B and overall was Chris Smokey Madden with a time of 13.346. Heat races would be up next and they would take the top 4 out of every heat to transfer to the main event. Heat 1 would hit the track first and it would see Mike Marlar, Scott Bloomquist, Timothy Culp, and BJ Robinson transfer. Heat 2 would see Brandon Overton, Tyler Erb, Neil Baggett, and Logan Martin move on. Heat 3 would see Chris Madden, Earl Pearson Jr, Jimmy Owens, and Billy Moyer make it into the feature. Heat 4 would see Jonathan Davenport, Josh Richards, Hudson Oneal, and Billy Moyer Jr transfer to the main event.
B mains would be up next and they would take the top 4 to transfer into the feature race. B main number 1 would see Devin Moran, Michael Norris, Mason Oberkramer, and Shannon Babb transfer to the main event. B main number 2 would see Tony Jackson Jr, Austin Rettig, Tim McCreadie, and Jack Sullivan all make it into the main event of the evening.
The main event would be on the track next and at the drop of the green flag Chris Madden and Mike Marlar would line up side by side and start the main event with a drag race to turn 1. Madden would win the drag race and would be unchallenged until lap 19 when his car would slide up the track and allow Brandon Overton to get by him and lead lap 20. Lap 21 would see Overton slide high and that would allow Madden to regain the lead and take off and never look back and win night 1 of the topless 100 and the 5K to win prize money. I don't know if yall have been keeping up with my stories here lately but that puts him at 3 wins and 155K that has been won in the month of August alone.
Top 10 finishers were
Madden
Overton
Bloomquist
Owens
Davenport
Richards
Oneal
Marlar
EPJ
Jackson Jr
