Thanks for posting this! Confident bunch up there in Charlotte as they should be... i think they’ll be surprised by what they see with DF.
Their coach is a confident guy, wouldn't read too much into that. MC won't be surprised at all as they've been watching film on DF for two years. We're all very aware of DF as well as Coach Knotts and his history here in NC.
Not MC per say... the guys interviewing Palmeiri more so. Especially the guy in the Maroon shirt who stated he wants to see how DF handles MC’s FBS front line and SEC caliber linebackers. I would compare MC size to TLH from last year. Its going to be physical that’s for sure.

The media appealing to their Charlotte base. Should be a good one.

I say that DF wins hands down because NC is usually a week or so behind when it comes to practice and the start of the football season. Its really easy to want to see Knotts lose cause I can't stand him or his team and would love to see DF lose by like 50 but I know that historically NC is atleast a week behind when it comes to football

One thing I’ve noticed from Mallard Creek prior years is that they tend to make some mistakes that cost them a play or two and shoot themselves in the foot. The Noller kid did quite well against DF last year but how will he do at MC? With it being the first game of the season I think it will come down to critical plays and the team who doesn’t turn the ball over or have stupid penalties. Knotts usually does a good job with that so that’s something to watch for.

Looking at that video I didn't see any disrespect from the MC coach. The hosts were trying to get him to say something. I believe everyone has total respect for a Tommy Knotts coached team.
I was watching an interview with Knotts that Lou Bezjak at The State has on Twitter. Huge stat from last season if true - Dutch Fork didn't give up a single sack.

If MC can come out and play the game completely very physical they can win.
Them Columbia boys don't like getting punched in the mouth.

I will be there but really no idea. Probably the most stacked Mallard Creek team ended up with three losses. Had bad chemistry and no rhythm on O with a new QB that had limited passing ability. Three SEC O Line signees and did not great protection. We are hearing this team is the most talented in MC history and they have had some impressive teams and talent. The big difference maker in my opinion will be the new OC, Robert Hellams (formerly at Northwestern), who has reunited with his former QB Dustin Noller. If they can throw the ball effectively stretching the field vertically and hitting the short passes it will really allow the big boys to push for the running backs changing their O.

If DF is able to replace the lost OL I do not see much drop off from them. May not be what last season was but they will be hard to beat in the Carolinas. Knotts has downplayed this team a bit. To me that means they are going to be on fire again.

Hard to bet against TK at home on opening night. I have found MC has issues early in the season but will be a locomotive at the end of the season. If the DBs do not play well, which has been a thorn in a lot of early games I have seen, they will give up a lot of points. The other item that I think DF may be to exploit is specialty teams. We will see.

Bottom line, SC is at an advantage with coaching positions and support especially over the Charlotte schools. Look at the numbers of coaches on the sideline Friday night. SC sees football as a business while Charlotte Meck Schools almost seem to see it as a nuisance.
