What proof do you have of this besides jamborees? What about the 4th and 6 at our own 20 something yardline a few years ago vs emerald? He tries to win every game other than scrimmages and jamborees.EmeraldCityEagle98 wrote:Guys I'm sorry but this is just my personal opinion and doesn't represent the opinions of any other greenwood fans. I don't think Dan Pippin gives 2 cents about this game. It's non region and if which is a big if.... There's a chance we could see gaffney again if we make the playoffs. He only seems to care about region games and playoff games. Therefore I feel like he's going to call super vanilla plays. I think he'll try and compete but he won't really try to win now because of the above reasons. If we don't play to win and really try to win we're going to get drilled at gaffney. I really hope that I'm proven wrong.

Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
if that's true it must be pretty depressing being a fan.
he's a vanilla play caller no matter the game
he's a vanilla play caller no matter the game
Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
I differ. If Dan had that program rolling, and he had built the reputation of slow playing the OOC part of the schedule and then always crushing it in region, and at playoff time maybe he could play it that way. But he needs a big win to help restore the faith amongst the fan base that he is the man to lead the program. A win over a school like Gaffney would go a long way towards that. I think he brings everything he can to try and win this one.

We need the Dan Pippin that beat Dutch Fork in 2015 at River Bluff and Hanna in the playoffs 2 years ago.
Where can we find that guy?

Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
Looking forward to this game should be a good contest between the 2. The only thing that concerns me is this will be Gaffney's 1st game where Greenwood has had a game under their belts already, It will be hard on us cause we are breaking in a new offensive line that has played together some but most will be starting for the 1st time
Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
Checked the stats from last week's game. 37 yards of offense in the first half last week. About 125 total. Will have to do way better than that to beat gaffney. Maybe it was first game jitters.....I don't know. We need to get it together come Friday. A bright note is our defense forced 5 turnovers and had 2 TD's which should have been 3tds but the DB tripped over his own feet on the would have been pick six so there's that.....
