Cats take it. One game they seem to always get up for is this one

I didn't see Rock Hill play so I am unsure of how bad it was. I did watch NW/SP and I don't really get the vibe some posting on here do. NW was improved and were playing together although they have a very tough road ahead and a lot of growing to do. SP wasn't even close to the teams they have been fielding in recent years. SP was completely missing the swagger they usually play with and for much of the night they just didn't have play calling that used their skill players to stretch the field. It will be interesting to see how these teams perform of the next few weeks.

I saw Sumter giving the ball away 8 times half of those inside their own 35 yard line and it not being taken advantage of. Then on Saturday I saw a couple of teams who looked like they were in "Week Zero"!
NW and South Pointe will both be fine teams this season. Both have new coaching staffs. Both have HC's who are HC's for the 1st time. There is bound to be some growing pains.
So with that in mind - you grade on a curve! I wasn't expecting them to look like it was the last regular season game and the region was on the line. I was grading on "potential" and "where they will be".
And, in my opinion, both are ahead of where RH is currently. If you can get on PFT you will see I Posted something totally different last year! It was more to the tone of: "Rock HIll is hungry and capable of beating South Pointe and it wouldn't surprise me if they win"!
In other words, "I Call It Like I See It, for my team or against"!

The greatest growth of a football team occurs between what games?

What happened to the other RH running back that was supposed to be returning. I know RH lost Barber to Hough.

Wow, I didn't know he left! https://247sports.com/Player/Antonio-Barber-46040093/ It's crazy that he would go up there when he has made his name in Rock Hill. I mean, didn't he get an offer and accept it from Tennessee?

Crazy!

Noah Thompson - Mania he was a senior.

And of course you know Nari Gaither went to Gardner Webb! Gardner Webb is getting the real deal Hollyfield! His stature hurts him; but it wouldn't surprise me if he made it to some higher level of football one day. Not a bit b/c he had the mindset and work ethic as well as God Given athletic ability. That combination will make him a special player for GW.

They do still have Anthony Jackson: Colorado State, Duke, Akron, App State, Charlotte, Wake, East Carolina all offered - but I think he committed to Charlotte!

Some good players on the Bearcats for sure. The ensemble they had last year was good to the point they could carry a football team. Not sure they have enough of those guys 2019. Or they have yet to emerge at least.

Thanks. I had it in my mind Thompson was returning. What is weird about Barber is that it was rumored on a NC message board that he was going to play for Hough last year along with the Barber from Fort Mill.

South Pointe gets one day less of rest and preparation with the latter being more critical with the new coaching staff. These games between the two schools always stay close at least for the first half if not the whole game. The football climate in Rock Hill has not changed enough yet for that to be any different. A close game should be immenent.

This is a little off topic but can anyone of you that’s in the Rock Hill area confirm that Player X indeed lives in Charlotte and in the Mallard Creek school zone? There’s talk that he still lives in South Carolina and commutes to school everyday... how is that possible?

The mother lives in Charlotte and the father in Rock Hill. I believe he is in Charlotte full time now that school is in session.
