Definitely think this is Dan Pippin's best defense he's had at Greenwood.ManigoEra wrote:Checked the stats from last week's game. 37 yards of offense in the first half last week. About 125 total. Will have to do way better than that to beat gaffney. Maybe it was first game jitters.....I don't know. We need to get it together come Friday. A bright note is our defense forced 5 turnovers and had 2 TD's which should have been 3tds but the DB tripped over his own feet on the would have been pick six so there's that.....

Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
Without Gaffney playing a game is actually an advantage to Gaffney do to video. All we will have of you are scrimmages and you'll have a whole game of video on us. I honestly don't think that's particularly fair but no excuses. The best team will win regardless.racincowboy02 wrote:Looking forward to this game should be a good contest between the 2. The only thing that concerns me is this will be Gaffney's 1st game where Greenwood has had a game under their belts already, It will be hard on us cause we are breaking in a new offensive line that has played together some but most will be starting for the 1st time
Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
This is probably the most informative game of week 1. More will be learned about a lot of things after this game is played. No horse in this race, so I will leave all of the talking to others. Great early season test for both squads.
The "Godfather" didn't whine like The "Slobfather" is doing, when he got INDICTED!!!!!

Re: Greenwood at Gaffney
Yea I feel you on that one but you should have a full game on us kind of sort of when we went to South Pointe and played them in a "full game" scrimmage lol sorry but I had to do that. Unfair maybe but who schedules the games just out of curiosity is it the coach or the AD. I like the week 0 games as a fan cause football season gets here so much faster but in turn I don't like them cause you get the bye week in the middle of the season and it to me distracts the kids on that week and makes for a long season. I can also see the benefit to a week 0 game too gets players rested and healthy for the rest of the regular season and for the playoffs too.
Good luck to your eagles and hope yall all have safe travels to the Reservation on Friday night and then on the way home from the Reservation after leaving with a loss.

Does anyone know the last time Greenwood won at Gaffney if ever? The last time we beat them was in 2010 in Greenwood. Of course we don't play them regularly.

According to the SCFootballHistory website.
The last 4 times that Greenwood beat Gaffney. Greenwood was at HOME. (2010,1987,1979, and 1976)
1969 is officially the last time Greenwood won at Gaffney.
SCFootballHistory has the final score at 19-0, another source had it at 10-0.
Note:
In 1986, Greenwood was leading the "Tear Gas Game" 10-7 at Gaffney.
The Indians had driven to the Greenwood 16 yd line with under a minute to play.
That is when the tear gas incident occurred. Gaffney eventually won by forfeit.
Officially, Gaffney has won 7 straight at HOME against Greenwood. (2011,1998,1994,1992,1988,1986,and 1977)

Great post informational wise lol. Sheesh.....1969 the last time Greenwood won at Gaffney. If Pippin can pull this one off he'll definitely have bragging rights over the past coaches to say the least. I wasn't even alive in 69.

Cathcart beat Gaffney in 2010 when he was the coach so I wouldn't exactly call it bragging rights but it would be a start. Pippin needs to win region and get us to state and then win it. Only then will the bragging rights be valid in my humble opinion.

I feel ya but I was talking about winning at Gaffney. We haven't done that since coach Babb. So it would be worth bragging about to me.EmeraldCityEagle98 wrote:northside knight wrote:SCPrepTalk wrote:Here is what i found.northside knight wrote:Does anyone know the last time Greenwood won at Gaffney if ever?
