41-6 Gaffney final

Post by EmeraldCityEagle98 »

I'm tired of watching this year after year. Changes need to be made. Evertime there's a big game since Pippin has been the coach we're on the losing side. The players look like they have stage fright. That's a coaching issue. The coach is supposed to have the team ready to play. Sad thing is we don't have such a bad team however this Greenwood team or any other Greenwood will only get so far because of coaching. I'm done.....

We're officially watching the demise and complete destruction of Greenwood football as we know it. It was a nice run while it lasted. It's over folks....... We've become what we despise. Cellar dwellers

Is Gaffney that good or is Greenwood just bad?

Gaffney is really good don't get me wrong but Greenwood should have been able to put up a better fight than that.

Congrats Gaffney. My first time at the new gaffney stadium. Nice facilities. Good luck the rest of the season.

As for Greenwood, we'll be lucky to win 5 games this year. 86 yards of offense. Terrible.

As far as the stadium, it's nice enough I guess. But Gaffney should have refurbished the old stadium. Would probably have cost less, and that was one of the most intimidating places to play in the state. The new place? Not so much.

But Gaffney is very talented this year. At this point one figures it will come down to them and Dorman in that region.

Greenwood? A once proud program that seems to have slipped. I really looked for a better showing as the natives are a bit restless for Greenwood to return to the form they have grown accustomed to. And this was the type of stage where Pippen could have shown that the program was on the right track. And he didn't need to win. Just needed to be very competitive. Instead, they get curb stomped. We will see how the rest of the season develops, but if things don't change, get out the checkbook and go get the guy at Abbeville like you should have a few years back.

“It was 14-6, and we had the ball back with a chance,” Pippin said. “We just didn’t make a good play, but that’s because we don’t have that experience in the first half. We said we got to get Daylan reps, too. In the grand scheme of things, this is a non-region game that doesn’t count for anything. But it would have been nice to play better and coach better.” - Index Journal

I have a problem with this. In the past, before Pippin got here....Non-region games counted and mean a lot to the Greenwood fans. The coach doesn't take scrimmages, jamborees and non region games seriously. We will always come up short because eventually we will have to face these teams again in the playoffs.
