My point exactly. These games were tune up games for Greenwood under Dula and Cathcart to get ready for the tougher teams in the state in the playoffs. People keep saying how much better woodmont is and it's probably true but at no point should they be an actual concern for a program like Greenwood. The hard nosed Greenwood mentality is missing under the Pippin administration and it shows.Deputy wrote:Unfortunately, for all the Greenwood folks, they have already taken a step back from many in the state.
Fortunately for them, I don't see them taking a step behind to Woodmont. But at the same time, when did anyone ever think that a Greenwood game with Woodmont would be anything but an afterthought.

I'm telling you, under Dan Pippin greenwood will find some sort of way to make this game closer than it should be and might very well get beat by woodmont. Through no fault of the players as they can only do what they are coached to do.

These region 1 teams are no better than they were when I played. Other than Hanna. Greenwood football has been in a regression since they hired Pippin.EmeraldCityEagle98 wrote:My point exactly. Actually if you can remember, there was a period somewhere from 2001-2009 or so that Hanna would always be undefeated when they played Greenwood. They were actually very talented. But they always dropped that Greenwood game. Scott Parker was their coach back then. Actually a good hard-nosed coach. Just couldn't beat Greenwood. Oh the days.ManigoEra wrote:These region 1 teams are no better than they were when I played. Other than Hanna. I wish no ill will against anyone. I just want to see my team win. If someone has an issue with me wanting to see my team succeed that's on them.

Hillcrest beat Woodmont 34 to 7 last week. We need to do the same or put up more points. Can Pippin do did it? I doubt it.

I agree. I actually like Coach Pippin. I just wish he could get the wins he needs. We all want to see Greenwood get back to the level we're used to.
