No matter what the case may be. Greenwood shouldn't be losing to Laurens, Easley and Woodmont.
Why you playing, we could lose to JL Mann and Wade Hampton this year. That's how much the program has fallen.

Then might I suggest a coach that takes bad programs and builds them- he has won a state championship. Go beg the Woodmont Coach!

Re: The current state of Greenwood football
would G'Wood fans be ok running the Wing-T? (am aware there are differing versions with differing names)
How would the players handle that system?
I know that Cathcart was very successful running a version of it, just wondering if current players (qb's and receivers) would play for a system like that
not saying it cant be successful, it can, but it is a total commitment to a different brand of football that is being played by most schools today

Greenwood has been losing to Laurens. Greenwood 97 I'm pretty sure if you played and graduated in 97 you never beat Laurens. So let's take them out of your argument.

What's the series? Very heavily Greenwood.GLS wrote:Greenwood has been losing to Laurens. Greenwood 97 I'm pretty sure if you played and graduated in 97 you never beat Laurens. So let's take them out of your argument.

You right, we did lose to Laurens but we had a sorry coach in place for those years (Mike Martin Era). We got rid of that coach and brought in Shell Dula. Once Dula was active, beating Laurens hasn't been an issue until Pippin was put into placeGLS wrote:Greenwood has been losing to Laurens. No jab at Pippin but he's a rebuilding style coach not a championship style. There's a difference. Hopefully, he will listen to others and change his style of coaching.
Re: The current state of Greenwood football
Eagle 93 I know you did not beat Laurens in your time either. My problem is both of you are acting like Laurens does not have its fair share of wins or region and state championships also.

Re: The current state of Greenwood football
Laurens beat Greenwood in 97 when Greenwood was 2-9. After that Laurens next win against Greenwood was 2015 during the Dan Pippin era. This means Greenwood beat Laurens 17 years in a row. To find any significant winning steaks against Greenwood, Laurens would have to go back damn near 20 years..... Laurens will probably whip my Eagles tomorrow due to the coaching situation. When was the last time Laurens beat Greenwood when Greenwood wasn't terrible? No disrespect intended. I'm a little younger so you'll have to educate me on this.GLS wrote:Eagle 93 I know you did not beat Laurens in your time either. Re: The current state of Greenwood football
You've never beat Greenwood consistently. I don't remember losing to Laurens during my time there. The series is heavily Greenwood. That's fact. It's a school we regularly beat. Yes you've won some, but you've lost many many more to Greenwood. It just is what it is. Greenwood has had more football tradition and success at football.GLS wrote:Eagle 93 I know you did not beat Laurens in your time either.
