I am going to walk away from this conversation since I know a lot more than you realize and what I have stated will come to fruition in time. No need to continue this discussion when I can’t divulge my sources and who I am to you which would explain a lot. Have a great day and may all of your coaching search dreams come true. I hope you will look back and reread my posts and reflect on their truth one day. I have all the respect in the world for Greenwood and their traditions so without you knowing who I am you can’t appreciate my words. Best wishes again and I am gone from this posting.
I've had my guesses, but that's irrelevant. I'll divulge this to you because I'm pretty in touch with parts of town I'm sure you aren't. Some of our most talented kids aren't playing for either high school, but they should be. But you can't tell me that I don't know my hometown and school's tradition and history when that's all that was beaten into my head. In football camp in the mountains and the expectations the whole time from the community. It's entrenched in me. I try to remind myself that it's just a game. But I still expect to see us reach certain heights regardless of who we play. I've told Pippin that he is a great person, and that's from the heart. I believe he's done all he can for Greenwood. I mean that. I've probably been more vocal to him than most. But not in anyway that I felt was a disrespectful tone. It's Greenwood, and as with any school that is high on it's football program; vocal folks kinda comes with the territory. Skin has to be thick. It even had to be thick back in my days as player. It is what it is.
"We're from Greenwood Highhhh Schoollllll Don't you forget! We've got that spirit! We'll surprise you just wait and watch us do it! The boys from Greenwood High School Never give in (hey hey hey) Fight to the finish Cause we're out to win! Rah-Rah-Rah""""

That last part means a lot to the community. "Fight to the finish Cause we're out to win! Rah-Rah-Rah" We don't play around when it comes to winning ask Willis Burkett, Shell Dula and Coach Gene Cathcart.

Really shows how delusional you Greenwood people are if you just poopoo on Jet Turner.
In the past he ran, successfully the exact offense of Gene Cathcart. He whipped you with Woodmont and totally kept you out of the endzone the year before. He did what no one will EVER DO, won a state championship at Clover. All I can say is yall ain't real freaking smart.

Who talked bad about Jet? He's done a great job. Even in his time spent at Ware Shoals. Be careful not to put everyone in the same boat. I said last season that Woodmont would continue to improve because he is there.

Greenwood will hire the best candidate for the job! Just sit back and wait. They won't mess this up this time around.

We will see. But times change. Can Greenwood wake up the echoes of what their program used to be? We will see. But things never stay the same. Greenwood isnt the same town it was years ago. I hope Greenwood does get it back together just because I enjoy those traditional schools being the barometer. Emerald sits across two where Greenwood had no competition for talent years ago. And this day and time, the kids don't cherish football like previous generations did. We will see.

I mostly agree, but we'll just have to see. It wasn't that long ago that this program went 15-0. Even though that's very hard to do. Just have to make sure you're getting the best from everyone. At least the best effort. And possibly get the talent that is walking the streets and hallways to play for the team. Lots of talent playing for home schools or not at all.

I know one thing for sure. The Greenwood community will get the new coach to put Dorman, Spartanburg, Abbeville and Emerald back on schedule.
