Abbeville 31 v. Hartsville 10

Post by AHS14 »

One of the more intriguing match ups this week... this will essentially be the rubber match b/w the two schools as they split a pair at Newberry College in 16 and 17 and Abbeville's trip to Hartsville last season was washed out due to hurricane. The game will be in Abbeville at Hite Stadium. On paper, this Hartsville team doesn't seem as good as years past but we would be foolish to overlook them. I am really looking forward to seeing our defense work against the Red Foxes' strong passing game. I also hope to see some improvement from the Abbeville offense that has scored just enough to win so far. I don't really like making predictions, but if our D can keep Hartsville in check I think we can a get a victory.

Safe travels to all who are coming to the game!

I wouldn't mind coming to this game if we weren't playing goose Creek. Creek players (mainly the QB) was talking trash so I wanna see in person what our defense gonna do to them. Good luck Panthers

AHS14....I wish your Panthers all the best this Friday night vs Hartsville ....I'm gonna go to Gaffney to watch the Indians try and scalp Byrnes.

Apparently alot of people seem to think Hartsville is “DOWN” this year....DO NOT...I REPEAT....DO NOT SLEEP on a Calabrese team as my friend who went to the Bluffton @Hartsville game Friday said the ONLY area they might be down is RB.

He said their linebackers are the best he has seen in quite a while and he has seen many games as well. Their WR’s are very are big and have good hands also...So it sounds like to me it will be a close, hard fought game and whoever has the ball last wins.

Go Panthers!!

My only prediction for this one is a rough, tough football game. Hope Atown can get the win, would be a nice one...over a very strong 4A program. Hope our offense returns to form this week....we have struggled scoring lately...I think we are better than what I've seen the last several games.

My preseason pick for game of the year. The best AA upperstate program over the last 5 years hosting the best AAAA lowerstate program over that same time period. Both teams playing for the right to be called the best team not named Dutch Fork in the state during that time frame. (Apologies to South Pointe, Chapman and Dillon)

This game and the potential game between Dutch Fork and Fort D. are the 2 most anticipated games in the state this year. A lot more seems to be on the line than just an ordinary non-region game between 2 non-rival teams. I wish that I could be there for this one. I will be watching the scores from this game closely.

I don't have a dog in the fight. I like Abbeville playing at home, but I like the depth of talent from Hartsville. Both teams bring in a great pedigree for winning big games and close games. In the end, I think that Hartsville will use their depth to set up the potential win, but.........., Abbeville uses the home field advantage to make just one more big play than the Foxes. Panthers win by 1 or 2 points.

Best of luck to both teams, and safe travels for all who make this their destination tonight.

This game was never in doubt. Abbeville scored first on a 6+ min drive and led 24-0 at halftime. The Panthers gashed the Red Foxes on the ground and all they could do was watch. Hartsville offense looked decent at times but committed a lot of backbreaking penalties. Honestly, I thought they were a little overrated and would test us a little more. But not to take away anything from Abbeville, this is by far the best we've looked so far this season and this will be a great confidence booster going into region play next week.

Good luck to both teams on the rest of the season!

Could of told you that. Hartsville is awful this year. Saw them play in the season opener and in a scrimmage. Not a very good team

I'm ready to see Abbeville and Dillon schedule a game about the 3rd or 4th game of the year. That ticket would be worth $20, easy.
