All I will say is it depends on whose side you are listening to whether it is lies or not. Bentley is a Gus Malzahn wannabe and is closer to being a Gerry Faust!!

Let me just say Chris Miller has not forgotten how to coach! My personal belief is that he doesn't have the talent at Spartanburg to be competitive against the Byrnes, Gaffney's and Dorman's. He is a heck of a coach that was basically bullied out of Byrnes so someone could put his hand picked coach who hadn't won anything in place. Chris would have kept the Dynasty going at Byrnes if he had been left alone. He took Byrnes to the State Championship 6 times and did win 4 out of 6 State Championship games. I don't call that riding on somebodies coattails and I am offended by that remark knowing Chris and how hard he works as a coach!!

Someone bullied their way back into a job after they were fired for not being able to win at the next level and many think wanted the job back until he could get another college gig. Then he bailed on them again after setting the program up for failure and it did. Fortunately for Byrnes they have gotten Reggie Shaw who has salvaged the program and is my pick to win State this season. Byrnes has talent and now has a coach, Spartanburg has a coach but doesn't have any talent!!

Correct. Miller hadnt forgotten how to coach. Not sure what is going on at Spartanburg. One would figure that the talent may be down somewhat, but rarely is Spartanburg so devoid of talent that they get blown out like they have in some games. Maybe they have had injuries, bad chemistry, who knows. And I dont think anyone actually forced Miller out at Byrnes. But when Bobby left PC and got the folks in Duncan to create a position for him to return, it's awful tough to be the head coach with the guy that created the dynasty sitting in the corner as OC. Miller had finally gotten out of the shadow of those first couple of years where everyone said that he was just babysitting Bentleys crestion, and then her comes Bentley back to the program. Figure at that point that he wanted his own program.

But as far as Bentley goes. He is an excellent football coach. Went to PC with an understanding of what direction the administration wanted that program to go. After two years, he realized that reality wasnt going to take PC in that direction. And as we have all seen with PCs decision to go non-scholorship, they had dreams of having a bigger football program at PC, but couldnt afford it. Of course, that leads to Bobby leaving Byrnes for Auburn. One figure he had a huge hand in Lane being named his successor at Byrnes. That was a mistake. Just wasnt a good fit. Inherited a program in good shape that went in the tank three years later.

Miller was a wrestling coach and not a football coach.
I always thought he might have learned something from ole slick Bob but it doesn't look like it.
And on your comment about Miller being bullied.
He was given that job for that exact reason.
Byrnes didn't replace Bentley with a top notch candidate. They got them a "yes" man.
Those championships at Byrnes with his name as HC is a joke and every serious football fan knows this man

Miller is a great defensive coach, but can’t run/build a program. He took over a monster that Bobby built and had an array a talent that this state has never seen. Bobby came back because PC let him down. Take out the 6 years at Byrnes and Miller’s record is average at best. Bobby was only gone for 2 years and that’s why there was never a drop off at Byrnes. Cannon and I have agreed on this for a long time.
