Job Openings
Re: Job Openings
In regards to Hellams, the principal and AD fired Hellams. When you have players that Mallard Creek has it is not hard. Tell him to go to Fort Mill and see if he can produce what he has done at MC. Better yet, hire him at Emerald since you guys might have a head coaching opening.

1. The principal and AD were fools, obviously. I'll be shocked with Page Wofford has any kind of success at NW.tigergirl wrote:In regards to Hellams, the principal and AD fired Hellams. 2. Why would Robert Hellams leave Mallard Creek to come to a 3A high school in the middle of nowhere? I appreciate your attempt to take a shot at Emerald High School. I am not affiliated with that school and am not a fan of them. I follow all the programs in that area from afar. Emerald just so happens to be the biggest dumpster fire of them all.

I have all the respect in the world for Coach Susie - I interviewed him every week for 2 years.......I think he got a raw deal as well....I understand clearly as a parent where you are coming from.......Wish you and your kids the best....In_the_know wrote:Hey Chuckster I respect your opinion but must disagree. Here’s why. When NF opened they literally took half of FMs football team. When CR opened this year they only too a little over 200 students from FM and only 8 players. FM had a senior class of 30+ this year. They were awful. Worse then the teams from the original NF/FM split days. In McNeelys 2 years FM is 2-18, has the worst loss ever (77-0) and scored the least and gave up the most points ever this year. Solid coaches, as you say, put kids in a position to compete. Don’t sling the ball all over when you don’t have a QB to throw it or WRs to catch. At least the previous coach (Susie) gave them a chance with his ball control offense. For someone who came as a defensive guru, like McNeely did, he sure laid an egg. 5A football is a lot different than what he’s used to. If you check Maxpreps this is his pattern. He got smashed when he played the big time Charlottes school and not the cupcake Iredell County schools. Im passionate because my kids play here and played for both. Sometimes what you wish for may not what works. Dang.

No Fly Zone.....Would you care to comment further and document you views on Coach Wofford? That is a pretty strong comment/position...Tigergirl, you seem to have a strong opinion as well....care to comment further? No Fly Zone wrote:1. The principal and AD were fools, obviously. Wofford certainly has solid experience and he seems to be a really good X's and O's guy, but he only cares about the QB position and that will bite him. I think he's better suited for a coordinator role...Chuckster wrote:No Fly Zone.....Would you care to comment further and document you views on Coach Wofford? If he surrounds himself with a solid staff, especially on the defensive side of the ball, he might have a chance.

He was just on Twitter complaining about how little NC coaches get paid compared to SC coaches, so theres that.No Fly Zone wrote:tigergirl wrote: 2. No fly...I was not taking a shot at Emerald. I clearly made a statement that if Hellams is what you think he is, then Emerald should go after him. You have had the players to be really good but it appears that poor coaching has gotten in the way.
Hellams is at MC knowing they would win a state title. He only coaches where the teams are going to win in order to build his ego up. Tell him to get a job at fort mill, garinger, or any other struggling school and see if he gets the same results. You have to have the players, dudes, dogs, jimmie and Joe's, etc.

Hellams coached at both Stratford and Wando in the Lowcountry. Those programs certainly aren't powerhouses with lots of talent lying around.tigergirl wrote:Hellams is at MC knowing they would win a state title. He gets big time jobs because he's a great coach. Those programs don't hire just anybody.
I think he'll have his fair share of HC offers in NC and SC. It's only a matter of if he wants them or not.
In all seriousness, what coach wants to take over a program that's completely devoid of talent?

100k plus no classes might be a convincer. And before you comment, football class don't count
