Abbeville vs AJ
Abbeville vs AJ
Rematch from 1st round last year. Anybody with some insights on AJ this year. They are 10-1 I know. Looking at their schedule, it's looks relatively weak, still I know they are pretty good. Riddle me this though...AJ beat Blacksburg by 20, Buford LOST to Blacksburg by 20, yet Buford shut AJ out 9-0. This Buford team that gave up 50 to Lewisville? 40 to Lee Central? 43 to Johnson? What the heck happened to AJ that night to get shut out by Buford? I believe the Panthers will take care of business, and, I fully expect Saluda to send Buford packing this week too...probably not even close.

I wouldn't care if AJ was 11-0 and had shut out all 11 teams they played, I would still pick Abbeville by 3 TD's or more.
Re: Abbeville vs AJ
Yea I was really just wondering what happened to AJ the night they played Buford. Buford gave up big points to weak teams and somehow shut AJ out.

The game with Buford and AJ was a sloppy game weather wise with a wet field. AJ was never really able to establish their passing game with a couple key turnovers on long drives in the redzone.*Topcat* wrote:Yea I was really just wondering what happened to AJ the night they played Buford. I figured turnovers played a part, they can certainly figure greatly in the outcome of a game, no doubt. Gonna be cold and maybe a little rainy Friday night too...just saying. Atown doesn't care if it rains, I can tell you that.Tjamal9106 wrote:The game with Buford and AJ was a sloppy game weather wise with a wet field. AJ is a program on the rise. They have an excellent coach. The numbers are up there. The school is invested in football. A lot of good things going on there for football. Lots of excitement around the program!

37-0, Abbeville's O-Line completely dominated this game. AJ looked lost on offense pretty much the whole night. Hopefully Abbeville can keep up this great defensive effort!
