Jed Blackwell, heard on ESPN Spartanburg weekly each Friday doing the Piedmont Pick 'em Show and proving that he is one crazy dude, has started a new website devoted to stories and behind the scenes looks at High School sports. The focal point will be in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Cherokee-Union area, but stories from across the state may show up as well. If you listen in to the Pick 'em show on Friday, you may qualify to compete in the BEANS AND CORNBREAD TRIVIA CHALLENGE and win yourself the fixings for a cornbread and bean supper!
Jed will be working with the crew from ESPN Spartanburg as well (Hauser, Smitty and Hawk are well known to many in the area from their daily afternoon show, Open Mic Daily from 4-6 pm). If you don't live in the area, go online to http://www.espnspartanburg.com and click on the LISTEN LIVE button. Topics will range from Panthers, Gamecocks, Tigers and local news, to national topics. The schedule this week includes:
Monday - Braves Baseball with Bills Shanks of the BravesShow.com
Tuesday – Clemson Sports with TigerIllustrated.com’s Cris Ard
Wednesday – Racing with NASCAR SceneDaily’s Jeff Owens
Thursday – South Carolina Sports with GamecockCentral.com’s Scott Hood
Friday – High School Friday Night Preview with Spartanburg Herald-Journal’s Kevin Melton
Notable Guests on Open Mic Daily recently include:
Clemson Greats Woody Dantzler, Perry Tuttle, and Vance Hammond.
South Carolina Greats Todd Ellis, George Rogers, Terry Wilburn, Toby Cates, and Ryan Brewer
ESPN Analysts Dick Vitale, Erik Kuselius, Mike Greenberg, and Linda Cohn.
In talking with Matt Smith, http://www.espnspartanburg.com will have a Scoreboard on their website this year, posting scores from all the games they can get reliable updates from...
Lots of new opportunities in the Upstate Area and with the right connections, this coverage can grow to cover all areas of South Carolina.
Can you have enough coverage for some of the best high school in the nation?

Their confirmation e-mails don't work? That sounds familiar.DeCav wrote:I tried going to the site but just gives me a screen to register with my name and email. Then it says they'll get back to me. Haven't gotten any emails, still cant view the site. Guess I'll prob have to wait till monday or tues.
