Re-Alignment Update

Post by Damefan »

SCHSL Announcement:
Executive Committee Action Items:
A motion to set aside the portion of the SC High School League Constitution Article V, Section 1A & 1B thus allowing the schools to use their actual enrollment count to determine classifications passed 13-1 (15 members present).

not sure of the impact of this, but to be honest, didn't see the impact of just counting grades 9-11, nor the reasoning behind it

if you're the top school in enrollment (I think it's Wandoe), then using 9-11 for all schools, they will still be the biggest right?

let's count them and get on with it

Wando is expected to lose at least 1500 kids when Lucy Beckham opens so that could make a Dorman or Summerville top dog. Also as the nine private and charter schools on Mount Pleasant continue to take kids from Wando it reduces their numbers.

right I get that. but if you take the top ten schools in attendance as counted 9-12, wouldn't they still be the top 10 schools in attendance if you counted 9-11, or 9-10, or 9 even?

well if Wando is losing significant #'s to charter schools right now or projected to, then 9-11 is probably a better projection of where they will be in Fall....Assume this years senior class is typical number for them prior to newer charter schools in that area, only thing I can think of and only used Wando because that was example being used
