Is it required that all coaches have a teaching certificate?

That's crazy. So, You are missing out on great coaches because they do not have a teaching license.

Technically required but can always go through Pace program after the fact
pay goes up the more years you are a certified teacher. I think the thinking here is that high schools are not football factories
For all sports besides football, it seems to be ok to not be a certified teacher. Not sure why football is treated differently

It's in a school district's best interest to hire ADs and HCs that are certified.pounddarock wrote:That's crazy. So, You are missing out on great coaches because they do not have a teaching license.

Who are some non-certified coaching candidates that are "great" that SC high schools are missing out on?
I'll wait.

I know some youth coaches that swear they are better than anybody walking a high school or college sideline in this state. They tell me about it all the time.No Fly Zone wrote:This post kind of got my blood boiling.pounddarock wrote:That's crazy. Either that or he considers himself to be a really good Madden play caller.
